This book won in the battle between a captivating nonfiction read and a Malaysian historical novel - just because we were still in the mood for some good ol' rock and roll fun after finishing Daisy Jones & The Six.
Actually picked up this amazing biography of Stevie Nicks, lead vocalist of Fleetwood Mac in 2020. Didn't finish because, honestly, it was a bit confusing to keep track of all the names that were dropped. She worked with so many different producers and band members, which is a testament to her risk-taking nature.
However, picking it up again, it's easy to read and definitely a compelling biography of a total icon of a woman.
For those of you who don't know who this legend is, she is the Godmother of Rock n Roll, a Welsh witch who mesmerized generations of men and women with her free spirit and crazy vocals.
Stephen Davis does a good job of capturing that, as well as showing us how real she was, through her ups and downs - her fame, success, and her struggles with heartbreak and addiction.
You would fall deeper in love with her after reading this because she's just that cool, honestly. Stevie Nicks, FTW
