Taste & Trade 360 is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Gene Tech Sdn Bhd, Ping Edge Sdn Bhd and the University of Wollongong Malaysia, on a strategic partnership in AI Robotic Cooking Technology for Culinary Education and Industry Application.
The ceremony was held on 9 September 2026 at Kitchen Arena HQ โ World Of Oven, and signed by Mr. Brian Ding, Director of Gene Tech Sdn Bhd; Mr. Ethan Choong, Chief Executive Officer of Ping Edge Sdn Bhd; and Professor Dr. Hiew Pang Leang, Vice-Chancellor of University of Wollongong Malaysia.
We were honoured by the presence of YBhg. Tuan Boniface Anak Edwin Manung, Secreterary of Technology Transfer and R&D Commercialisation Division of MOSTI, YBhg. Mr. S. Jai Shankar, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Export Acceleration) of MATRADE and YBhg. Mr. Mohd Jerry Tan Bin Mohd Safi, Executive Vice President (Business Division) of MTDC, who witnessed the ceremony.

The partnership begins with Battle of the Bots at Taste & Trade 360, 5โ7 November 2026, KLCC โ Southeast Asia's first robot cooking machine competition. From there, it carries into the 2027 academic pipeline, bringing AI robotic cooking technology into culinary training at University of Wollongong Malaysia.
There's a lot more to come. We're building the talent and the technology together, and we're only just getting started.
