MoU Signing Ceremony between University of Buner (Pakistan) and Penerbitan Buku Pena (Malaysia)
On 4 February 2026, University of Buner (UoB) and Penerbitan Buku Pena (PBP) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Menara Arina UNITI, Kuala Lumpur, marking the formal establishment of a new academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Fazli Wadood, Incharge International Linkages, who represented the Vice Chancellor of the University of Buner, and Dr. Nabilaa Mohamed, Founder and Managing Director of Penerbitan Buku Pena (PBP).
The MoU provides a structured framework for cooperation in academic and research activities, including joint research initiatives, collaborative academic publications, academic programmes, and Master’s and PhD supervision and co-supervision. It also emphasises scholarly capacity-building and knowledge exchange aimed at strengthening research quality and academic outcomes.
As part of the collaboration, the MoU specifically highlights two core academic programmes under Akademi PBP, the academic and training arm of Penerbitan Buku Pena. The first is Tesis Jadi Buku.TJB™ (Thesis-to-Book), a structured initiative focusing on transforming postgraduate theses into publishable scholarly books through systematic research restructuring, academic writing, and publication strategy. The second is the Research Writing Meet-Up (Once a Month), a recurring academic platform designed to support research writing development, methodological discussion, and scholarly exchange among academics and postgraduate researchers.
The signing of this MoU reflects a shared commitment by both institutions to advance international academic cooperation between Pakistan and Malaysia, while fostering sustainable collaboration in research, publication, and postgraduate academic development.
