This week's report (31/10/14)
Was busy with work and did not have a chance to go until today. The bite rate was fantastic. Caught 11 Pacus and 3 Patins. There are towfoo there but due to a minor hand injury, I was unable to dump it to lure the fish. Tactic is the same.

One of the angler caught a 9kgs Mama Toman.

This Week's report (4/9/14)
The Pacus are back at canteen area. In the past 2-3 months, Patins were colonizing the canteen area. According to the boss (Mr. Wong), many jackpot fish was hooked up. The biggest is a 30kgs Tapah hooked by the Police who intended to catch Lampan to make salted fish. He was using bread and a light rod with only 10lbs line. How lucky???

Back to my report, the total I have caught was 16 (all pacu) and you just need to cast 10-15 feet away from the canteen. I think the patin is back to the center of the pond. For patin lover, you may have better chance to hook up patin at the middle or "lemon tree" area.

Mr. Wong is also selling a special formulated "dedak" which is reported to be very effective for catching patin. He is selling for RM 15 for 5 kgs. I have not try yet since I don't like bottom (imho, no fun).

This week's report (15/8/14)
You can hardly get any fish at the middle and right side of the canteen area. The fish just ignore the bread. However, the left side of canteen area was good. You have to let the bread flow to the far left and have high chances of hooking one. I caught 10 fishes all from the left side. Mostly pacu and all were below 6kgs.

There were many patins at the middle area but they just refuse to take the bread.

This week's report (8/8/14)
There are some changes in the pond. The small fishes (lampan & tilapia) were no longer feeding frenzy. The bread that thrown in the pond were only consumed by the big ones. There are a lot of patin near to the pump. You will notice that when you dump the tow foo to the pump. However, the patins just ignore the bread (bait) when they are feeding frenzy on the tow foo. So I came out with a new tactic but will get your hand dirty.

Just stuff the stinky tow foo into the bun or bread, then wrap it and cast to the pump area. If the bread sink (due to the weight of the tow foo), put a floater about 6" from the hook.

Total caught : 13 (9 patin and 4 pacu)

This week's report (25/7/14)
Today, fished at canteen and to my surprise, there are a lot of Patins but not that big (around 6-7kgs). The bite rate wasn't that bad. 13 fishes were hooked up (8 Patins and 5 Pacus). This is my first hooking so many patins at canteen area. There are a lot of tow foo, once 1 - 2 scoops of tow foo were thrown into the pond, you'll be able to see all the patins surfacing. They don't seem to be interested in the bread so I wrapped the stinky towfoo to the bun and they took it immediately. If you can withstand the stink, try this method, it works perfectly.

This week's report (18/7/14)
Went to the middle area (mango tree) and many Patin were hooked up (6 Patin and 4 Pacu). Same method was used but the bread you throw has to be scattered around the area. Once you have spotted the big one taking the bread, cast it to the exact spot. The biggest I caught was around 9-10kgs

Since the weather is hot now, I believe the fishes swam to the deeper water to avoid the heat. As such, the bite rate at canteen area was very bad and you can hardly get patin.

The next time you go, I would recommend Middle or Far End area for bigger fish and better bite rate.

This week's report (11/7/14)
The bite rate was very very poor. Throwing buns can't lure the big ones to show up. There was no tow foo left (normally, towfoo will lure them in immediately). Caught only 5 big Pacu which is the lowest in my fishing record at Towfoo Pond. There were more and more lampan and tilapia consuming the bait before the big one sees it.

The five I caught were all casted to the far left from the canteen area. I recommend you to try at other areas (mango tree or farthest end) for better bite rate.

This Week's Report
Total hooked up= 13 (9 pacus & 4 patins) & 5 missed. It was extremely hot and actions started in the morning and slowed down in the afternoon. Same tactic by throwing a few buns to wait for the biggies to emerge before casting. The best bun is those which is very creamy and within seconds, they will start feeding frenzy.

The fish here are very clever and it is recommended to tight the leader directly to the line so that the whole line is floated.

Just went there again. The bite rate was fantastic from 11am onwards. Total caught of the day = 15 (12 pacus and 3 patins). About 6-7 got off the hook. 2 line cut by pacu's tooth.

Method (apply to canteen area) - Throw 1-2 scoops of towfoo to the pump and wait until the towfoo reaches the middle, you will see a lot of action. Cast a bun to the area. If the bun submerge, cast a new bun (just don't let the bun submerge, they won't take the bait).

The feeding frenzy will starts from the pump all the way to the farthest left of the canteen area. Once you got one, don't throw towfoo but cast the next bun to the left side, farthest left, etc depending on where you see the action.

1-2 scoops of towfoo allows me to catch about 2-4 fishes. Once no action is spotted, repeat the whole process again. Once in a while, throw buns to the pond instead of towfoo.

Good luck

Just went there today. The bite rate was bad. Most probably due to the pump was spoiled. Got 5 and missed 3 this time. Most of the time, I'll get more than 10, when there is tow foo, I'll get more than 20.

There were a lot of Lampan in the past 3 weeks. If you use bread, they will consume it in less than a minute. As such, they will make it hard for you to hook a big fish like Pacu and Patin. There's a trick and proven to be working but you will need to spend a lot on breads. Throw in 1 or 2 breads to the pond and wait for the bigger fish to come up. If they don't and the breads were fully taken by Lampan, then throw in 1 or 2 again. Repeat this until the big one comes up and you just need to cast to the exact spot to get them. 80-90% chance you will hook a biggies. When throwing breads, don't just concentrate on 1 spot.

03/06/2014

There are a few spots that enable you to catch giant patins (>10kgs).
1. The farthest part (lemon tree area)
2. Middle part (mango tree area)

Bait
1. Dedak (Hong) - Float or Bottom
2. Bread mixed with strawberry or pandan - Float or Bottom
3. Buns - Float

Normally, I would suggest float as the bottom is extremely muddy that may hide the bait from the fish sight.
