Love on the Dotted Line is a romance and family drama that tells the story of an unlikely pair, Ada Okeke and Wande Badejo. Ada, a newly widowed mother of four boys living in Port Harcourt, needs to provide for her sons, but has nothing to her name. After a decade with her cruel late husband, she has sworn never to remarry.

Wande Badejo, a.k.a. “The Beast”, has conquered the business world but is powerless in the face of his children’s needs, especially his sickly daughter. Desperate, he needs to make one more acquisition: a woman with a ‘mother’s heart’. Wande proposes a marriage contract to Ada that solves both their problems. At first, Ada refuses, but circumstances force her to take up the offer.

After a very rocky start, Wande and Ada decide to work together for the good of the now blended families. Falling in love isn’t part of the contract, but it happens. The family is torn apart by a secret that comes to light, but fate brings them together again and they find that love can show up in the most expected circumstances, changing everyone around them.

Book price: 15000

In 1960s Lagos, a city enlivened with its new-found independence, headstrong Margaret meets British-born Benjamin, a man seeking his roots after the death of his half-Nigerian father. Their connection is immediate, but as the two begin to fall in love, they discover their pasts are more interwoven than they imagined. The shadow of events which unfolded almost a century ago, combined with Margaret’s deteriorating mental health, eventually tear them apart.

By 2005, Margaret has retired to an upscale gated community in Lagos, and seemingly happy Benjamin lives alone in Atlanta, managing his heart problems with no options when asked to name his next of kin. But their attempt at a settled life is shattered when their grandson begins to show ominous signs echoing the struggles Margaret once faced. The long-estranged couple are forced to reunite to confront the buried secrets they had dismissed in the passion of their youth - secrets that continue to ripple through their family.

A startling and propulsive tale of forbidden love, This Kind of Trouble traces the intertwined legacies of one family’s history, exploring the complex relationship between tradition, modernity and the ways we seek healing in a changing world. With this debut novel, Tochi Eze announces herself as a dazzling new literary voice.

Book price: 15000

When Adunni Ojo arrives at a poolside bar one Saturday evening for a date, her life is in order. Final year of uni? Check. A food business gaining traction? Check. A steady boyfriend of six years? Check. Her world is small, stable and safe, until Tife, her boyfriend shows up late and a seductive stranger shows up first.

Rotimi Badmus is the kind of man mothers warn their daughters about; wealthy, aloof, burdened by a last name that opens doors but locks him into a life he never chose. When he meets Adunni, he sees something he didn’t know he was looking for. She sees someone she’s sure she doesn’t need. But their connection is disruptive, and impossible to ignore.

The Finest Things is a sharp, stirring novel about love that upends expectations, and family ties that refuse to loosen. As Adunni begins to confront the cracks in her picture-perfect life and Rotimi unearths long-buried family secrets, both must face the painful legacies they’ve inherited and the choices that could set them free.

Some lies protect us. Some lies destroy us. Most lies do both.

The Lies We Tell is a fierce, dazzling, heartbreaking collection of stories set across the motor parks, matrimonial bedrooms, and candlelit hostels of Northern Nigeria. From the dye pits of Zaria to the rooftops of Abuja, Fatima Bala pulls back the curtain on the secret architecture of Hausa women’s lives, the bargains made in silence, the truths swallowed whole, the love offered and withheld and weaponised across generations. Spirits move through these pages alongside pharmacists and politicians. Grandmothers whisper to unseen things. Girls become women and women become ghosts, and some, only some, find their way back.

Written in a voice that crackles with wit, grief, and an almost unbearable tenderness, these stories ask the question no proverb has ever answered: when the lie is the only thing holding everything together, is it still wrong to tell it?
