Something I live with: Tinnitus.

Maybe you’ve heard a ringing, buzzing or whooshing sound in your ears when everything else is quiet. That’s part of what tinnitus can feel like. You may be wondering what Tinnitus really means.

Tinnitus is when you hear sound inside your ears or head, even though there’s no external source of that sound.

It can be many types of sounds like ringing, buzzing, hissing, clicking or humming. It might happen in one ear or both, it can come and go, or persist.

For many people, tinnitus is a symptom of something not a disease on its own. It might relate to hearing change, ear injury, loud noise exposure or other health conditions.
