In 2016 after a new CEO resumed and fired over 300 people in my office then slashed salaries by 20% for those of us left, I realised my job was not safe.
I started to ask myself, if the company needs to do another round of layoffs in 6 months or one year, and I lose my job what will happen to me?
That day, I made a decision to find an exit strategy and fire my boss before they fired me. That same period I discovered my Beauty Business and started building it.
Two and the half years later, I fired my boss. Today, I work from home and earn more than 3x what I was paid on my job and teach people how to do same.
The best time to start a business is not when you need it o! The best time is when it looks like all is going well but there are signs of possible danger ahead. Instead of living in fear or praying and fasting not to get fired, I got an exit strategy.
Remember Pharaoh's dream of 7 lean cows swallowing 7 fat cows and Joseph's interpretation? He advised the king to make plans for when the time of famine will come.
That same famine affected even God's chosen people because they didn't have the foresight to plan and prepare for it.
