The Oxford Handbook for Project Management - N 50,000

The Oxford Handbook of Project Management presents and discusses leading ideas in the management of projects. Positioning project management as a domain much broader and more strategic than simply 'ex*****on management', this Handbook draws on the insights of over 40 scholars to chart the development of the subject over the last 50 years or more as an area of increasing practical and academic interest. It suggests we could be entering an emerging 'third wave' of analysis and interpretation following its early technical and operational beginnings and the subsequent shift to a focus on projects and their management.

Nigeria’s Manifest Destiny by Vitalis Obidiaghaa N6000 (Hardback)

At a time when American citizens were struggling to discover their nation’s national purpose, there arose John L.O’Sullivan who coined the phrase “Manifest Destiny” and gave America an intangible ideology that created the American nation and history.

That simple phrase inspired the creative energies of Americans and drove the United States of America from the valley of Great Depression to rise to the mountaintop of economic prosperity fulfilling their manifest destiny as the leader of the free world.

In this insightful presentation of Nigeria’s Manifest Destiny, Vitalis has articulated Nigeria’s central mission and laid the philosophical foundation for the fulfillment of Nigeria’s national purpose. A must read for every Nigerian citizen.

Nigerian Public Discourse: The Interplay of Empirical Evidence and Hyperbole N10,500

From beginning to the end, Nigerian Public Discourse is a poignant insider's dissection of Nigeria's hydra-headed socio-political situation. Through courageous and radical intellectual analyses, the author questions the of the collective dissemination of myth garnished as facts in the discourse of national enterprise, a misadventure that has negatively impacted national development. Thus, the author aims at reframing national discourses away from misconceived narratives and nebulous data brandishing in order to engender national growth and development.

Issues bordering on national growth-rule of law, democracy, infrastructure, economy, constitution, judiciary, security, citizenship, civic responsibilities, labour, corruption (in all forms), and education--are raised, with the author providing a prism on how to navigate these terrains as he advances cultural realities as a way out of the woods. The author advocates appreciating the country and her institutions while not foreclosing the possibilities for improvements.

Quite illuminating on nation-building, this insightful book deconstructs the intricacies of governance vis-a-vis its challenges, The author opens the readers' minds to the ignorance and misconceptions in which our concerns are rooted, and guides our outlooks as we are confronted with choices on which way to go in search of better lives and alternatives for our country.

The book, presented from the viewpoints of an author who many describe as politician, lawyer, engineer, counsellor and teacher par excellence that is passionate about the Nigerian project, provides a cautionary message on how we can collectively build a country that we can be proud of. It is a call to the citizens and the government to value national co-existence and
om collective sharing.

As a pragmatic approach to governance, every Nigerian will benefit from reading this book, and its epistemologies will be a great gain for the nation.

‘THE CHILD IS DEAD. THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO KNOW..."
__
Tracker is a hunter, known throughout the thirteen kingdoms as one who has a nose - and he always works alone. But he breaks his own rule when, hired
to find a lost child, he finds himself part ofa group of hunters all searching for the same boy. Each of these companions is stranger and more dangerous than the last, from a giant to a witch to a shape-shifting Leopard, and each has secrets of their own.
__
As the mismatched gang follow the boy's scent, from perfumed citadels to infested rivers to the enchanted darklands and beyond, set upon at every turn by creatures intent on destroying them, Tracker starts to wonder: who is this mysterious boy? Why do so many people want to stop him being found? And, most important of all, who is telling the truth and who is lying?
__
Drawing from African history and mythology and his own rich imagination, Marlon James weaves a tapestry of breathtaking adventure through a world at once ancient and startlingly modern. And, against this exhilarating backdrop of magic and violence, he explores the fundamentals of truth, the limits of
power, the excesses of ambition, and our need to understand them all.

This Generation: Dispatches from China’s most popular blogger Han Han - N3,250

Selected from blog posts from 2006-present, This Generation tells the story of modern China from Han Han's unique perspective. Writing on topics as diverse as racing, prostitution, and how to be a patriot, Han Han has written a diary that is not only invaluable for the English-speaking world to understand our rising Eastern partner and rival, but which will long be remembered as a millennial time capsule. The core of this anthology is drawn from the collection Qingchun (Youth), published in Taipei in 2010, but it also contains a sprinkling of both older and more recent pieces. Presented in chronological order, the sequence opens with a handful of early posts; it excerpts Han Han's work more fully beginning in 2008, the year when he really hit his stride and his blog commanded a larger and larger audience in the run-up to the Beijing Olympics. The anthology closes with Han Han's controversial cluster of essays posted in the final days of 2011.
