*TVET FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)*

1. What is the meaning of TVET?

*ANS:* TVET is an acronym for TECHNICAL/VOCATIONAL EDUCATION TRAINING

2. Is TVET program free?

*ANS:* Yes! It's an entirely Government sponsored program through the Ministry of Education for qualified candidates.

3. What are the qualifications for participation?

*ANS:* Entry qualifications were based on an earlier online application.

4. How long would the training program last?

*ANS:* TVET is a two-tier phase programme. TVET Tier 1 which is what you applied for shall run for 6 months and the advance Tier 2 for 1 year.

PS: Tier 2 is not for you.

5. Is it true that the program comes with a monthly allowance?

*ANS:* Yes! Every month beneficiaries will be paid an allowance to support their training logistics. The exact amount will be disclosed later. However bear in mind an amount btw 25k to 30k

6. Would starter packs be given to the trainees after the training?

*ANS:* Yes. But only to successful candidates who have met training requirements during the period of engagement and certified by the Training service provider

7. Can the starter pack be converted to cash?

*ANS:* for now NO!
The purpose of the starter pack is to enable skill development and personal productivity.

8. At the end of the training, would certificates be issued?

*ANS:* Yes. Certificates will be issued to only successful candidates after the training.

9. Can someone change the skill applied for online if he or she has a second thought afterwards?

*ANS*: for now NO. But further clarification can be gotten from TVET Initiative committee at FME.

10. After the six months training, will the training center still be open for possible training follow up?

*ANS:* Officially No! But depending on how you are able to establish a personal relationship, you can enjoy extended opportunities to improve on your skill subject to terms with the facility management.

TVET Approval Updates

Let's break down what "Pending" and "Approved" mean in the context of the TVET program.

TVET Application Statuses:

- Pending: Your application has been successfully submitted and is awaiting verification and approval. This means you've completed the application process, and your details are being reviewed. No further action is required from you at this point.

- Approved: Congratulations! Your application has been approved, and you're officially in the intake. You'll see your assigned training center listed on your dashboard, although it's possible it might not be allocated immediately.

When it comes to "Pending Approved," it's likely that :

- Your application has been approved, but the training center hasn't been assigned yet. You'll see "Approved" on your dashboard, but the center might show as "N/A" until it's allocated.

If you're seeing "Pending Approval" on your dashboard, it's possible that:

- Your application has been approved, but the system hasn't updated to reflect the training center assignment yet.

- There's a delay in the training center allocation process.

To clarify your application status, you can:

- Check your dashboard regularly: Keep an eye on your TVET dashboard for updates on your application status and training center assignment.

- Ensure your contact details are up-to-date: Make sure your phone number and email are active and accurate to receive important notifications.
