WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT PALM OILS?
Ask anyone in Africa, Nigeria precisely; every people, tribe and tongue is gifted with this multiple benefits yielding plant called the palm tree.🌴
From the roots that produce the first sprout to the final leaves at the center, the tree trunk and all the palm fronds, the benefits cannot be completely numbered.
As the saying goes "one man's meat is another's poison" so are the benefits of the palm tree differing and hidden from people to people.
"Hey, go straight to the point. What do you mean?"
What I mean is that the benefits of the palm tree as known to a certain people is not always the total benefits as known by other set of people who have other things they too benefit unknown to others.
In some cases, it's not the knowing but the acceptance. My mom puts it this way: "no one can completely reject the palm tree. If one of it's products doesn't appeal to you, another will"
It is one tree no one can do without.
E.g the local alcohol drink (Palm Wine) as medicinal and healthy as it can be to some people is not accepted to some people due to faith or perception difference, but those same people consume other things from the palm tree.
"But we're talking about palm oils?"
Yes. Let's get to it.
You see, palm oil is one if not the only generally accepted product of the palm tree.
But what do you need to know about it which you probably had not know before?
THE MYTH
There's usually a believe that a particular people (tribe/culture) have the best of palm oils than others.
Permit me to debunk that here.
THE TRUTH
You see just like our benefits of the palm tree differ from people to people, likewise our modes of preparation or processing even packaging and presentation of such products.
You don't still get the point right?
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?
What really makes the difference is the culture of a people from where the product is from.
And because culture cuts across everything about a people's way of life, food is not at all left out, likewise the mode of preparation of the food. Egusi soup is egusi soup, but not the same in Enugu as it is in Ogun state Nigeria.
That's the variety life gives to make our stay here more adventurous. Everyone's is unique to them.
CONSIDER QUALITY
No matter the tribe or culture, quality must be assured. So if you're gonna have a taste of any culture from their food, ensure its quality.
