The oversized jacket
In the aftermath of Covid 19 lock downs and the consequent body boom (you know what we mean) Retro fashion has been resurrected. A fashion item that has become a staple as a result of all that is the oversized jacket. Worn over everything from formal wears to casual sun dresses.
Here are a few tips on how to nail this trend to the office

1 Size it: pick an oversized jacket that is a size bigger than your normal size. Although at first with this trend it seems that the bigger the better is the law, we recommend you stick on the side of caution until you are confident enough to pull the bigger jackets in style.

2 cinch it. As you are free to pair the jacket with everything from a dress to an equally oversized shirt we advise that whatever outfit you choose to wear it with be cinched at the waist. You can even belt the jacket across the waist. Cinching The waist gives the outfit structure. No matter how loose fitting the outfit is, a cinched waist restores balance

The white sneakers
Accessories are to an outfit as cherries are to cakes. The one accessory that would go with anything you have this season is the ubiquitous white sneakers. As we are still embracing the comfort in style trends the white sneaker is the all winning footwear is the season. Since 2014 the white sneakers has been gaining momentum in the fashion world. It has gone from gym wear to streets and the runway and is now taking over the office. Here are a few tips on how to be fashionably sneaky at the office.

Choose a dressy style
All sneakers are equal but some are more equal than others… at least when it comes to the office. Go for low sneakers and wear them with no-show socks

Minimize. Choose styles with minimalist design. Even though it is must not be white, keep the shoe colour in the neutrals.

Play it up. Opt for sneakers made of fabrics that are already familiar at the office. Invest in suede and leather sneakers. They will require little maintenance and will last you more than long enough to get your money's worth out of them.

As fashion trends come and go and clothing items become "out of fashion" some clothing items are however, ever resilient. Even as it's sibling the pencil trouser (aka skinny jeans) has been buried in peace, the pencil skirt remains sovereign. Although most current trends advocate for the super-sized and deconstructed pieces of the 90s, the pencil skirt seems to be one of the few fitted clothing items still in vogue.
Today in we show you how to rock the pencil skirt this season.
There are 3 rules to keep in mind while wearing a pencil skirt this season.

1 Elevate. Look for pencil skirts with a high waist line. Generally waistlines this decade seem to be going up and up. Pair it with high heels. Although there is no rule against pairing your pencil skirt with a flat shoe but the style is a throwback at the 40s. Fashion may have wined time back but not that far…

2 Super-sized the boxy silhouette is the essence of the trend this season. Pair your pencil skirts with slightly over sized tops. Also choose pencil skirts that are made from sturdy fabrics to support a tailored and yet boxy silhouette. Fabrics like tweed,denim, suede or even leather.

3 Sneaky the trend this season is also about comfort. If your are uncomfortable with high heels, please pair your skirt with a white sneaker. This add some edgy and yet comfortable notes to the outfit.

Since the pandemic and the consequent body boom (you know what am ) the mood has been towards layering the body in comfort and style under lots of fabrics.
One of the clothes which has become a staple item this season is the sweatpant aka jogger. Once frowned upon as a sports wear only clothing item, and banned from entry at various places, the humble sweatpant has rising from grass to grace. Or more precisely from gym to the office. The trend began somewhere in the last few years but has grown exponentially with the rise of slow fashion and the covid19 hit.
To nail the sweat pant look here a few tips to guide you

1 look for a more tailored fit. Choose the ones that tapper towards the ankle

2 keep the colour neutral

3 pair it up with a button up shirt and a cardigan or boyfriend blazer (for the brave of heart)

3 step it up with a your favorite pair of heels

4 Sit down comfortably for your zoom meeting. Lol! A lot of establishment will not allow you to wear your sweatpant to the office. That being said a lot of us are still working from home…

It's Tuesday the 13th! The world's luckiest day... Or is it?
Apparently there is a widely held superstition about the number 13. A lot of cultures consider it an unlucky number especially when it is associated with a Friday or a Tuesday (depending on the ) . So much so the English dictionary has the word triskaidekaphobia (meaning an extreme fear associated with the number 13) listed in it. Many hotels do not have a room 13 and even some airlines (AirFrance and Lufthansa amongst others) don't have a 13th row.

Coincidentally Italians consider 13 a lucky number! What do we make from this? Men are indeed captains of their fates. are seeds. are seedlings. And sadly are self fulfilling. If you believe that a certain thing will bring you luck it will. If you don't then it won't. Beliefs are the lense from which we choose to see the world. Think positive thoughts and you will yield positive fruits.
That having been said we dub Tuesday the 13th the happily and lucky day for you and us.
