Today at The Root of David (TROD), Pastor Tim Obeta, blessed us with a powerful message titled
“Honour and Thanksgiving.”
He reminded us that honour is a divine equation for success, spiritual longevity, and a fulfilled life.

📖 Exodus 20:12
“Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.”
📖 Deuteronomy 5:16
“Honour thy father and thy mother… that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee…”
📖 Ephesians 6:2
“Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise.”
✨ The only commandment specifically described as coming with a promise!
Even Jesus, while on the cross, made provision for His mother, entrusting her care to His disciple (John 19:26–27).

The charge was simple but powerful: let us honour and care for our parents, and cultivate a heart of gratitude. ❤️
🙏🏽 May we never become too busy to honour or too familiar to appreciate.

So, whether our parents are perfect or imperfect, whether the relationship is easy or complicated, we are admonished to choose honour, gratitude and care in whatever healthy and appropriate ways we can

🚨 PARENTS, PLEASE STOP ASKING FOR CHILDREN’S SHOES BY AGE! 😃👟

“Please, I need a size 5 shoe for my 5-year-old.”
“Do you have size 30 for a 5-year-old?” 😂😂
I hear this all the time and honestly, I completely understand why! ❤️

But here’s the thing: a child’s age can give you a clue, but it does NOT determine their shoe size.

👟 KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY!
Children grow differently. Two children of same age can have completely different foot lengths and therefore wear completely different shoe sizes.

From experience, many 5-year-olds may fall around EU sizes 30–31, but another 5-year-old may comfortably need 32 or even 33! 😮

That’s why, at SBTKIDDIES, we encourage parents and guardians to measure the child’s feet rather than simply buying according to age.

📌 Quick tips for getting the right fit:
👣 Measure both feet as one may be slightly bigger than the other.
👣 Measure when the feet are at their largest, preferably towards the end of the day.
👟 Allow a little room at the front for comfort and growth, but not so much that the shoe slips.
📏 If the child falls between sizes, consider the larger size, depending on the shoe design and fit.
🔄 Remember that children’s feet grow quickly, so recheck their size regularly.

SAVE this shoe-size chart 📌 for your next back-to-school shopping trip and share it with another parent or guardian who needs to see this!
And when you visit a shoe shop, instead of saying:
❌ “I need a shoe for a 5-year-old.”
Try saying:
✅ “Please, can you help me check the right size based on my child’s foot measurement?”

The right age will not guarantee the right shoe, the right FIT does! 👟❤️

SUNDAY REFLECTION TODAY- STAND FIRM...

As we. prepare to step into the final quarter of 2026, today’s message, “STAND FIRM TILL WE MEET AGAIN,” from Acts 20:32, is a powerful reminder that the journey may not always be easy, but God is faithful to keep us.

Pastor Shola Sanni encouraged us to stand firm until we meet again—and these four things stood out for me:
1️⃣ Stand firm in GOD — not in man.
People may change. Circumstances may shift. But God remains constant. Let your confidence and hope be anchored in Him.
2️⃣ Stand firm in the WORD OF GOD. 📖
Read your Bible. Study the Word. Meditate on it. When everything around you is uncertain, God’s Word gives you direction, strength and encouragement.
3️⃣ Stand TOGETHER and keep the work flowing. 🤝🏽
We were never called to walk this journey alone. Encourage one another, support one another and continue the good work. Don’t let the work stop because someone is no longer there.
4️⃣ Be FAITHFUL to God. ❤️
Remain committed, even when you don't see immediate results. Keep serving. Keep trusting. Keep believing. God sees your faithfulness.

As we enter the last quarter of the year, don't give up on what God has started in your life. Don't allow disappointments, delays or challenges to make you lose your footing.

STAND FIRM.
STAY IN THE WORD.
STAND TOGETHER.
REMAIN FAITHFUL.

Now let us commit ourselves to God and to the word of his grace, which can build us upp…” — Acts 20:32
