Chapter 107 : The Sacred Ground And The Luna Ceremony part 2

As the full moon reached its peak in the night sky, casting a silvery glow upon the Sacred Ground, a hush fell over the gathered pack members. The night was still, save for the distant sound of the river flowing and the occasional crackling of the ceremonial bonfire.

The anticipation in the air was almost tangible and a mixture of excitement, reverence, and curiosity. The pack had witnessed the fall of the old Alphas, the rise of the new, and now, they were about to witness the crowning of the Lunas, a sacred event that would mark a new era for the entire pack.

Then, from deep within the trees, the sound of distant drums echoed, slow and rhythmic, signaling the beginning of the ceremony. The drums, played by the Elders, carried an ancient melody that had been used for centuries to summon the spirits of the ancestors, invoking their presence to bless the night’s events.

A procession of pack warriors, dressed in ceremonial black robes with silver embroidery, emerged from the shadows, carrying torches that flickered like stars against the dark forest. They moved in a synchronized rhythm, their steps perfectly aligned with the steady beat of the drums.

The first to step forward was Sebastian, the new Alpha of the White Moon Pack. His tall, muscular frame was clad in a deep navy blue cloak, fastened at the shoulder with a silver wolf-head clasp. His sharp eyes shone with pride as he turned toward the entrance of the Sacred Ground.

From the opposite side, his mate, Nyla, emerged. She was a vision of ethereal beauty, wearing a flowing white gown adorned with silver embroidery that shimmered under the moonlight. A delicate crown of moonflowers rested upon her golden-brown hair, and a soft glow surrounded her, as though the moon itself had blessed her presence.

Sebastian extended his hand, and Isabella took it with a graceful nod, their bond undeniable as they stood before the pack.

Then came Oliver, the new Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack. His striking presence commanded attention, his dark eyes holding the weight of his new responsibility. Dressed in a sleek black cloak, he carried himself with the confidence of an Alpha who had earned his place.

From the shadows, his mate, Evelyn, stepped forward. She was adorned in a gown of silver silk, her long raven-black hair cascading down her back. She moved with the grace of a queen, her piercing bright yellow eyes locking onto Oliver’s as she reached his side.

As the two new Lunas stood before their respective Alphas, the Elders raised their hands in silent blessing, the energy of the pack shifting as the bond between each pair was acknowledged.

Just as the murmurs of excitement began to settle, the drums grew louder, their rhythm more intense.

The air grew heavier, charged with an invisible force. Every wolf in the Sacred Ground instinctively lowered their heads, their bodies recognizing the immense presence approaching.

And then, he arrived.

Jayden. The Supreme Alpha.

He stepped forward from the darkness, his aura unmatched, his very presence commanding absolute dominance. He wore a long black cloak, lined with deep crimson, the color of power and blood. The Supreme Alpha’s golden eyes glowed under the moonlight, their intensity sending a shiver through even the strongest warriors.

Behind him, a line of elite warriors followed, their faces emotionless, their posture rigid. Unlike the other Alphas, Jayden walked alone. No Luna beside him.

Yet.

The pack held their breath, waiting.

Would the Supreme Alpha finally reveal his mate? Would the Luna of the entire pack step forward?

But Jayden simply walked forward, his expression unreadable as he approached the Elder Stone, standing before the gathered pack.

He raised his head, his piercing gaze sweeping across the wolves before him.

"Tonight, we welcome the new Lunas," he spoke, his deep voice resonating through the Sacred Ground. "Those who stand beside the Alphas, thier future and thier strength as well as thier equals"

His words carried power, and the pack responded with a unified howl, a show of respect and acknowledgment.

But as the howls faded, the unspoken question remained in the air.

Where was his Luna?

And why had he not introduced her yet?

After Jayden finished his speech, he moved towards the large ceremonial chair at the center of the Sacred Ground. The chair was massive and intricately carved, made of dark oak with ancient symbols etched into its surface, representing the power of the Supreme Alpha. As he lowered himself onto the chair, his piercing golden eyes scanned the crowd before him—wolves from every corner of the territory, both old and young, all present as required by tradition.

This was a momentous event, one that every wolf in the pack had to witness. The crowning of the new Lunas was a sacred rite, and no one, regardless of status, was permitted to miss it.

Seated beside Jayden was his twin brother, Kayden, a man whose resemblance to Jayden was almost identical, except for the distinct energy he carried. While Jayden’s aura radiated dominance, Kayden had a calm but authoritative presence, a leader in his own right. Beside Kayden sat his mate, Luna Hazel, a woman of elegance and quiet strength.

To Jayden’s left, Dexter stood with Roland, and Xander. Kayden's Beta and Gamma. They stood with sharp, attentive gazes, their presence a reminder of the Supreme Alpha’s unwavering control over the wolves. To his right, Ryder sat, a small distance from Hazel.

As the new Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack, Ryder’s presence was necessary, even though he had yet to find his mate. He remained silent, his expression unreadable, his eyes flickering between the ongoing ceremony and the wolves around him.

As the ceremony progressed, the new Alphas and their Lunas stood in the center of the Sacred Ground, receiving their blessings from the Elders. The air was thick with reverence, yet at the back of the gathering, a quiet exchange took place.

Xander nudged Dexter, catching his attention.

"What?" Dexter asked, raising an eyebrow at him, arms crossed over his broad chest.

A smirk played on Xander’s lips. "How does it feel to be a Beta, huh?"

At the question, Dexter grinned, his chest swelling with satisfaction.

"Feels good," he admitted, nodding slightly. "I can't wait to start my Beta duties."

The excitement in Dexter’s voice was unmistakable. The upgrade in his rank meant everything to him. He was no longer just a Gamma—he had risen in the hierarchy, taking the position of Beta, one of the most trusted and respected roles in the pack.

More than that, it meant standing beside Jayden. It meant fighting alongside the Supreme Alpha, training harder, growing stronger, and leading warriors into battle.

But while the new position was thrilling, there was something else that made Dexter even happier.

In just one week, after Hailey graduated from college, along with Muna and their friends, he would finally bring his mate to the pack.

The very thought of it made his heart race with anticipation.

It was all he had been waiting for.

Dexter was lost in thought, his mind drifting far away from the noise around him. His mind drifting away to the moment he would finally bring Hailey to the pack. He wasn’t paying attention to anything Xander was saying until a sharp, unexpected pain shot through his arm.

SMACK !

“Are you even listening to me?!” Xander snapped, his voice filled with frustration as he pulled his fist back.

Dexter winced, rubbing the spot where Xander had punched him. “Huh? What did you say?” he asked, his expression dazed.

Xander let out an exasperated sigh, rolling his eyes. “Ugh
Forget it,” he muttered, clearly irritated but deciding it wasn’t worth repeating himself.

Before Dexter could respond, the ceremony shifted, bringing everyone’s focus back to the center of the Sacred Ground.

The ceremony concluded, the grand event marking the rise of the new Alphas and their Lunas finally drawing to a close. A sense of pride and unity spread through the pack, their cheers and howls filling the night air. However, the most anticipated moment had yet to come—the introduction of the Supreme Alpha’s Luna. The woman who would stand beside the most powerful Alpha of them all. The supreme Luna.

A hush fell over the crowd as Jayden rose from his chair, his golden eyes surveying the assembled wolves. His presence alone commanded respect, and without needing to raise his voice, the entire pack turned their full attention to him.

Somewhere in the inner chambers of the ceremonial hall, Muna took in deep, shaky breaths.

Her hands clenched the flowing fabric of her ceremonial gown, her heart pounding hard against her ribs. The weight of the moment settled upon her—this was it. The moment where she would stand beside Jayden, not just as his mate, but as his Luna.

Muna’s heart pounded against her chest, the rhythmic thudding drowning out the sounds around her. She took in deep, shaky breaths, trying to calm the nervous energy coursing through her veins. The weight of a hundred gazes was nothing compared to the knowledge that, in mere moments, she would step forward, standing as the Luna of the Supreme Alpha himself.

Her throat felt dry, and despite the warm glow of the ceremonial torches lining the sacred ground, a cold shiver ran down her spine.

Sensing her anxiety, Danielle and Sharon leaned in closer, their presence a comforting shield against the overwhelming emotions threatening to consume her.

“Breathe, Muna,” Danielle whispered, her voice soft yet firm.

“You look absolutely breathtaking,” Sharon added, her lips curving into a reassuring smile. “The whole pack is going to be stunned when they see you.”

Danielle nodded in agreement. "More than stunning. You look like a true Luna."

Muna exhaled, forcing a small, nervous chuckle. “Easy for you to say,” she murmured. “You’re not the one about to stand in front of hundreds of wolves.”

Danielle playfully nudged her. “No, but you are, and you were born for this moment.”

Muna glanced at both of them, grateful for their support. It meant everything to her that they were here, despite the tension their presence stirred within the pack. Danielle, a witch, and Sharon, a vampire, weren’t exactly the most welcomed guests among the wolves. Their existence within the pack’s sacred grounds was only tolerated because the Supreme Alpha himself had granted them passage.

Muna had noticed the wary glances thrown their way, the hushed murmurs, the cautious stares. Some wolves outright avoided them, their distaste barely concealed. But none dared to act against them. Not when Jayden, the Supreme Alpha, had spoken. His word was law, and his protection over them was absolute.

And if anyone so much as thought of going against the Supreme Alpha’s word, they would be making a grave mistake.

But unlike Danielle and Sharon, Hailey was not here.

She had wanted to come. She had begged to come.

But her parents had refused.

They were terrified. Afraid of what might happen if she stepped foot into the pack too soon. Afraid that something could go wrong.

And so, Hailey had no choice but until her graduation was over and she could finally join Dexter in the pack where she belonged.

But even from afar, Hailey knew that this moment was monumental.

Because tonight, the Supreme Luna would be introduced to the world.

Muna glanced at herself in the mirror one more time. The dress she wore was of deep crimson and black, colors symbolizing strength and royalty among their kind. The fabric clung elegantly to her form, adorned with silver embroidery of the Moon Goddess’s emblem. Her long dark curls cascaded down her back, glistening under the soft light.

She should feel powerful. She should feel ready.

But instead, she felt like her legs might give out any second.

Her fingers trembled slightly as she adjusted the silver Luna’s pendant resting against her collarbone.

"What if they don't accept me?" she finally whispered.

Danielle immediately scoffed, shaking her head. "The Supreme Alpha chose you, Muna. Anyone who dares challenge that decision would be asking for death "

Sharon placed a reassuring hand on Muna’s shoulder. "Besides, no one can deny how breathtaking you look. The moment you step out there, they’ll know you were meant for this."

Muna let out another breath, trying to calm the storm inside her.

Muna sighed. “I wouldn’t have gone through with this without you two by my side.”

Sharon gave her a knowing look. “You would’ve. You’re stronger than you think.”

Just then, a sharp voice rang across the gathering, silencing the crowd. The Supreme Alpha’s deep, commanding tone echoed through the air, demanding attention.

“Come forward, my Luna.”

Muna froze.

This was it.

The moment she had been preparing for, the moment she had feared, yet the moment she had long awaited.

Her breath caught in her throat, and for a brief second, her mind went blank. Her fingers curled around the edge of her gown, her palms damp with nervous sweat.

Danielle and Sharon gave her a final reassuring squeeze.

“Go,” Danielle urged.

“You’ve got this,” Sharon added.

Summoning every ounce of courage she had, Muna straightened her spine, took a deep breath, and she finally walked out of the chamber and started walking along the long pathway decorated with white roses while holding her dress so she wouldn't step on it while walking. She gulped as she tried her best to avoid the gazes upon her while trying to focus ahead.

The crowd parted as she moved, all eyes locking onto her. Some gazes held awe, others curiosity, and a few resentment. But none of it mattered.

Because at the end of the path, standing tall and proud, was Jayden—the Supreme Alpha.

Waiting for her.

Chapter 106 : The Sacred Ground And The Luna Ceremony

The grand meeting hall was alive with tension, a heavy silence hanging over the gathered wolves. The banners of the various packs lined the walls, a silent reminder of the power and history that had governed them for generations. Jayden sat at the head of the hall, his presence alone commanding attention. His expression was unreadable, his piercing gaze sweeping over the gathered wolves, as if he could already see through their thoughts, their hidden fears, and their unspoken schemes.

Finally Jayden spoke, his deep voice cutting through the silence like a blade.

"Oliver," he announced.

A ripple of murmurs spread through the crowd as Oliver stepped forward from his vacant park. His posture was straight, his face calm but unreadable. Oliver was the Beta of the Silver Moon Pack, serving under Alpha Tyler. Now, with the Alpha seat vacant, it was only right that the Beta took over the pack and ascended as its new Alpha.

Next, Jayden's gaze shifted, and he spoke once more.

"Sebastian."

Another stir passed through the gathering as Sebastian emerged from his place. The Beta of the White Moon Pack walked forward with confidence, though his eyes flickered with a mix of emotions. He had been loyal to Alpha Stephen, but now, the responsibility of leading the pack rested on his shoulders.

Jayden leaned forward slightly, his gaze unwavering as he addressed them both.

“In our law, when an Alpha is demoted or killed, the Beta will take their place, ensuring that leadership remains within the pack’s hierarchy. Oliver, you are now the Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack. Sebastian, you are now the Alpha of the White Moon Pack. I give you both the permission to choose your own Betas to stand by your side.”

A few murmurs of approval came from the surrounding wolves. This was expected. This was the natural order of things.

Standing in the center of the hall, the fallen Alphas, Stephen and Tyler, remained composed. Their faces were unreadable, but deep down, a sense of smug satisfaction simmered beneath their calm exteriors.

Both former Alphas came from the sacred Alpha bloodline. They still carried the belief that even if they lost their title, their influence over the pack remained strong. After all, they had ruled for years, and their Betas had once been their subordinates. To them, Oliver and Sebastian were nothing more than pawns that could still be manipulated.

This was not a loss, merely a shift in power.

Or so they thought.

Nicholas, on the other hand, stood with his arms crossed, his gaze locked on Jayden. Unlike Stephen and Tyler, he had no doubt that his Beta would be the next name called. It was only logical. The Beta was always next in line. That was how it worked.

Jayden had done nothing out of the ordinary so far.

Nicholas exhaled slowly, already bracing himself for the moment his Beta stepped forward to take control of the Blue Moon Pack in his place.

But then—

Jayden’s next words shattered everything.

“Ryder, my Beta, will become the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack.”

The hall fell into a stunned silence.

Nicholas’s entire body tensed, his jaw clenching so tightly it could have cracked. His heart slammed against his ribs, the words ringing in his ears like a death sentence.

No.

He had been expecting his Beta’s name. He had been waiting for it.

But it never came.

Instead, Jayden had stripped him of his pack entirely.

Meanwhile, Ryder stepped forward and stood unwavering, accepting the new role without hesitation. He had already come to terms with it the night before, and now, as he stepped forward, exuding the confidence of a leader and he did so with the presence of a true Alpha. He was no longer a Beta. He was an Alpha now.

Nicholas clenched his fists, his nails digging into his palms as he fought to keep his composure.

The realization was a bitter pill to swallow. With Ryder in control, there was no one left in the Blue Moon Pack who would remain loyal to Nicholas. No one who would scheme on his behalf. No one who would whisper his name in secret, keeping his influence alive.

This was disgrace in its most brutal form.

Nicholas’s breathing grew heavy. This wasn’t just demotion. This was obliteration.

Jayden hadn’t just removed him from power—he had erased his entire influence.

His pack was no longer his.

It belonged to Jayden.

Nicholas’s fingers curled into fists, nails biting into his palms. A rage unlike anything he had felt before surged through him, but he forced himself to remain still.

Stephen and Tyler, who had just moments ago believed they still held control over their packs, exchanged uneasy glances. If Jayden had made such a move against Nicholas, what did that mean for them?

Jayden leaned back in his chair, watching their reactions with sharp, assessing eyes. He knew exactly what he had done. He had planned this from the very beginning.

He wasn’t just removing threats. He was crushing them.

The room was tense, eyes darting between Jayden, Nicholas, and Ryder. Whispers spread like wildfire.

With this move, Jayden had ensured that the Blue Moon Pack was no longer in Nicholas’s grasp.

Even after Jayden made Ryder the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack, no one dared to speak. The hall remained eerily silent, though the minds of those gathered buzzed with unanswered questions.

Why had Jayden chosen Ryder?

It should have been Jackson, the rightful Beta of the Blue Moon Pack, who took the position. Jayden himself had just declared moments ago that when an Alpha was killed or demoted, it was the Beta’s right to take over the pack. So what was the meaning of this sudden deviation from tradition?

Despite the confusion, no one voiced their thoughts—no one except Nicholas.

The former Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack could no longer hold back his anger. His hands clenched into tight fists at his sides, his body trembling slightly as he took a step forward, his voice laced with barely contained fury.

“Supreme Alpha, what is this supposed to mean? This is not the law,” Nicholas said, his tone sharp with defiance.

The entire room tensed. Though Nicholas had lost his title and power, his pride as an Alpha still burned within him. He could not accept this.

“This is not the way things are done in the pack,” he continued, his frustration evident.

Jayden’s sharp, piercing eyes narrowed dangerously on Nicholas, the weight of his gaze alone enough to make the former Alpha feel like he was suffocating. Slowly, Jayden uncrossed his legs, the deep frown on his forehead casting shadows over his cold, unreadable expression.

The room felt smaller, the air thick with his authority.

“You have no right to speak to me, Nicholas,” Jayden said, his voice cutting through the hall like a blade. His tone held no emotion—only dominance.

“You are no longer the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack, so you have no place here. Don’t you dare question my decision.”

The finality in his voice sent a chill through the gathering. Nicholas’s body stiffened as his mind processed the sheer humiliation of his fall. He was powerless now. No longer an Alpha. No longer in control.

Jayden turned his attention away from Nicholas, his gaze sweeping over the wolves assembled in the hall. His expression was unreadable, but the seriousness in his eyes left no room for misinterpretation.

“Anyone who dares to cross me will face my wrath,” Jayden declared, his voice echoing across the chamber. His presence was like a storm, heavy and suffocating.

“I don’t care who you are or which pack you come from. Whether you are an Alpha or not
 I will erase whosoever.”

A deadly silence followed his words, and the wolves before him instinctively lowered their heads in submission. His dominance was absolute. No one would dare challenge him now.

Then, Jayden’s gaze shifted, locking onto one individual—Alpha Leonard.

The room seemed to grow colder. Leonard felt the weight of Jayden’s stare settle on him like an invisible force pressing down on his shoulders.

Jayden stood up. His tall, imposing figure cast a long shadow as he took a slow step forward, his eyes never leaving Leonard.

“I will allow you to keep your pack, Alpha Leonard,” Jayden said, his voice deep and commanding. “You have proven your loyalty to me.”

Leonard exhaled silently, though his posture remained strong.

“But—”

Jayden’s pause was deliberate, stretching the tension in the air.

Leonard swallowed, his throat suddenly dry, though his face remained unreadable.

“If you dare betray me,” Jayden continued, his tone darker now, “I will give you something worse than death.”

Leonard gave a slight nod, understanding the unspoken warning. There were fates far crueler than dying, and Jayden was more than capable of delivering such a punishment.

Then, Jayden’s gaze fell upon the three fallen Alphas—Nicholas, Stephen, and Tyler.

His expression held no sympathy, no hesitation. Only absolute authority.

“You three are banished from the pack,” Jayden stated coldly.

A hushed gasp rippled through the room, though no one dared to make a sound.

“You’re dismissed.”

With those final words, Jayden turned on his heels, his long strides carrying him toward the exit.

The wolves instinctively stepped aside, clearing the way for him to pass.

His presence remained even as he disappeared from the hall, leaving behind a silence heavier than before.
......

Three days had passed since the banishment of the three fallen Alphas and the rise of the new Alphas within the pack. Order had been restored, and now, it was time for a significant moment in the history of the pack—the Luna Ceremony.

After an Alpha claimed their rightful position, those who had already found their mates would celebrate the crowning of their Luna, the she-wolf who would rule by their side. It was a moment of unity, of strength, and of recognition, not only for the Alphas but for the entire pack.

But tonight was no ordinary celebration.

This was the night when the Supreme Alpha himself, Jayden, would introduce his Luna—his equal, the only one capable of ruling beside him over the entire pack. The announcement of a Supreme Luna was a momentous event, one that would solidify Jayden’s reign and bring a new era to the pack.

The Sacred Ground, where the ceremony was to be held, was the most revered place in the entire pack’s territory. It was an ancient site, untouched by time, where only the most significant rituals and ceremonies took place. It was here that Jayden had been made Supreme Alpha, and now, it would witness another milestone in his rule.

Towering pine trees surrounded the sacred land, their dark green needles forming a natural barrier that shielded the area from the outside world. The scent of pine mixed with the cool, crisp air of the night, filling the space with a grounding and powerful aura. The trees were ancient, their thick trunks standing as silent witnesses to countless generations of Alphas who had taken their vows on this very ground.

At the heart of the Sacred Ground stood the Elder Stone, a massive slab of dark gray rock, smooth from centuries of use. This was the very stone where every Supreme Alpha had once placed their hand, marking their bond to the pack with blood. It was said that the spirits of past rulers resided within the stone, their energy lingering to guide the future leaders.

The ground itself was covered in soft silver grass, unique to this land, which shimmered under the moonlight as though infused with the energy of the wolves who had walked upon it before. A single river ran through the northern edge of the sacred land, its waters clear as crystal, reflecting the glow of the stars above.

The Sacred Ground had been transformed into a breathtaking sight for the Luna Ceremony. The pack had worked tirelessly to prepare for this event, ensuring that everything reflected the grandeur of the Supreme Alpha’s reign.

Silver lanterns hung from the branches of the towering pine trees, their soft glow illuminating the area with a mystical radiance. Some of the lanterns were filled with fireflies, their tiny lights dancing within the glass, creating an almost otherworldly effect.

A long pathway of white rose petals had been carefully laid from the entrance of the Sacred Ground to the Elder Stone, symbolizing purity and the sacred bond between an Alpha and his Luna. Alongside the pathway, small torches flickered, their flames steady and strong, representing the enduring power of the pack.

At the center of the gathering area, a large ceremonial arch had been constructed from intertwined oak and willow branches, decorated with silver moonflowers and strands of silk that fluttered gently in the evening breeze. This was where the Supreme Alpha and his Luna would stand, side by side, as they were introduced to the pack.

To the left of the arch, a massive bonfire had been lit, its flames crackling and casting golden shadows against the dark trunks of the pine trees. This fire symbolized renewal and strength, a tradition passed down through generations. The fire would burn throughout the night, ensuring that the bond between the Alphas, their Lunas, and the pack remained unbreakable.

Rows of ornate wooden benches had been arranged in a semi-circle around the ceremonial space, allowing the pack members to witness the event. Each bench was adorned with woven garlands of white lilies and silver ivy, signifying unity and prosperity.

Near the river, a stone altar had been set up, where the Elders would stand to bless the Lunas and acknowledge them as the rightful Queens of their packs. The altar was draped in deep blue velvet, embroidered with ancient symbols of the pack’s ancestors. Silver chalices filled with sacred water from the river rested upon the altar, ready for the ritual of binding.

Among the new Alphas, Ryder had yet to meet his fated mate, which meant his Luna ceremony would not take place tonight. However, Oliver and Sebastian had already found their mates while they were still Betas, and their bond would be officially acknowledged tonight before the pack.

The anticipation was high, but above all else, the night was about one figure—Jayden, the Supreme Alpha.

The pack awaited with bated breath, knowing that tonight, they would finally meet the Luna of the Supreme Alpha—the woman who would rule by his side, a force equal to Jayden himself.

As the final touches were completed, and the moon reached its highest point in the sky, the time had come for the ceremony to begin.

Chapter 105 : Making Ryder Alpha of the Blue Moon pack

Jayden sat on his chair in the grand hall, his legs crossed in a relaxed yet authoritative manner. The grand hall, vast and imposing, was dimly lit by torches that cast flickering shadows against the stone walls, giving the entire room an eerie, almost foreboding atmosphere. The air was thick with tension, and the scent of dominance and unease mingled with the faint metallic tang of old blood that clung to the cold floor.

Beside him stood Ryder, his Beta, a loyal and calculating presence. His stance was firm, unwavering, his sharp eyes scanning the hall with vigilance. Ryder knew that in a room filled with Alphas, the threat of betrayal or a sudden attack was always present. He was always on guard, ready to act at the slightest provocation.

Jayden had deliberately chosen not to bring Muna with him today. He didn't want her to witness another bloody scene, not when she was still struggling to recover from the last one. The memory of Klara's death lingered heavily in her mind—how he had ruthlessly torn her heart straight from her chest, her agonized scream echoing through the hall before she collapsed lifeless at his feet. She had defied him, and in his world, defiance was met with swift and merciless punishment. The image of Klara’s bloodied co**se had haunted Muna ever since, and he saw no reason to expose her to yet another gruesome display so soon.

His hands were entwined together as his cold, calculating gaze settled upon the four Alphas of his pack. Alpha Nicholas, Alpha Leonard, Alpha Stephen, and Alpha Tyler stood before him, each one tense, each one knowing that today would decide their fate. The weight of the moment hung heavy in the air.

Alpha Leonard had wisely chosen to position himself slightly apart from the other three, giving them space—just in case they harbored thoughts of launching an attack on him when he least expected it. He knew better than to stand too close to potential enemies. His posture was rigid, guarded, his muscles coiled like a predator ready to strike at the first sign of attack.

Today was a crucial day—new Alphas would be chosen for their respective packs. It was a time of transition, of power shifting hands to another, and with that came inevitable bloodshed. The Betas of each pack stood behind their respective Alphas, their presence a reminder that leadership was not just about strength but about loyalty and control. Surrounding them were the pack members, gathered to witness their new Alpha, their eyes filled with anticipation, fear, and in some cases, quiet defiance.

Meanwhile, Jayden remained silent, his piercing gaze never faltering as he studied the scene before him. He was not one to act impulsively; he preferred to observe, to calculate, to strike only when the time was right. His thoughts briefly drifted back to what Ryder had told him the night before about the Alphas. Whatever information his Beta had given him was still fresh in his mind, and he weighed it carefully as he sat, waiting for the inevitable power struggle to unfold before him.

Last Night

Jayden had called Ryder into his study room. The dim light of the chandelier flickered against the walls, casting long shadows across the dark wooden shelves lined with ancient books and scrolls. The room carried the scent of aged paper, ink, and the faint smokiness of burning wood from the fireplace. A large oak desk stood in the center, its surface scattered with maps, documents, and a half-filled glass of whiskey that Jayden had barely touched.

Ryder arrived shortly after, his expression tense but composed. Before coming here, he had just put Mia to bed after scolding her for leaving the room without Olivia. His voice had been sharp, laced with the remnants of his frustration as he warned her never to leave his or Olivia’s sight again. His stern tone had carried weight, making it clear that her disobedience had consequences.

Mia gazed up at him, her lips trembling slightly as she hesitantly asked, “Are you angry?” Her voice was soft, almost afraid to hear the answer. She knew Ryder rarely raised his voice at her, and the way his brows had furrowed made her heart sink.

“Yes, I’m angry,” Ryder admitted, not bothering to mask his frustration. His tone was firm, yet there was an undercurrent of worry beneath his anger. “If I hadn’t gotten there on time, you would have been
” His words trailed off, his gaze meeting Mia’s.

Her eyes, already glossy with unshed tears, finally spilled over. Her small hands clutched the hem of her nightgown as she sniffled. “I’m sorry
I won’t do it again,” she whispered, her voice trembling with sincerity.

Ryder felt the tension in his shoulders ease at her words. No matter how angry he was, he couldn’t ignore the way her tears affected him. His gaze softened, and he crouched down to her level, holding out his arms. “Come here,” he said gently.

Without hesitation, Mia ran into his embrace, wrapping her tiny arms around his neck. She buried her face into his shoulder, her body trembling slightly as she sniffled.

Ryder exhaled, his large hands rubbing her back in soothing circles. “It’s okay
I’m not angry anymore,” he reassured her, his voice much gentler now.

But deep inside, the thought of what could have happened still haunted him. If he had been even a little late
if Muna hadn’t been there to protect her
the outcome could have been disastrous.

Jayden would not have hesitated to decapitate Mia. He was not fond of witches. None of the wolves in the pack were. They were cunning as always and not trustworthy.

And yet, somehow, against all odds, Ryder had grown a soft spot for this one.

He didn’t know how or when it had happened, but he had come to care for Mia in a way he never expected. She was different. She was
his responsibility. And he could not—would not—let anything happen to her.

While Ryder was still hugging Mia, Jayden’s voice suddenly rang in his head, his deep and commanding tone echoing through the mind-link they shared as Alpha and Beta.

“Meet me in my study. Immediately.”

The urgency in Jayden’s voice left no room for delay. Ryder exhaled softly, his grip on Mia tightening for a brief moment before he pulled away. He needed to go.

“Come, let’s get you to bed now,” Ryder said, his voice softer as he stood up, gently taking Mia’s small hand in his. Her fingers curled around his as he led her toward the bed. The room was dimly lit, the warm glow of the bedside lamp casting soft shadows against the walls. The air carried the faint scent of lavender from the bedsheets, a soothing fragrance meant to help her sleep.

Lifting her with ease, Ryder carefully laid her down on the soft mattress, adjusting her head onto the pillow before pulling the thick duvet over her small frame. The nights were getting colder, and he didn’t want her shivering in her sleep.

“Sleep now,” he murmured, his tone firm yet comforting.

He turned to leave, already preparing himself for whatever awaited him in Jayden’s study, when he suddenly felt a small hand wrap around his fingers, stopping him in his tracks.

He turned back, his brows furrowing slightly. “What is it?” he asked.

Mia puffed out her cheeks, her eyes holding a hopeful glimmer as she looked up at him. “Will you read me a bedtime story?” she asked, her voice laced with innocence.

Ryder let out a small breath, rubbing the back of his neck. He knew she loved bedtime stories, and on most nights, he would indulge her without hesitation. But tonight wasn’t like any other night—he couldn’t keep Jayden waiting.

“Not today, okay?” he said, his voice apologetic . “I have something to do now
I’ll read you a bedtime story next time. I promise, alright?”

Mia stared at him for a moment before finally nodding her head, her disappointment evident but understanding.

“Now close your eyes and sleep.”

Ryder stood up and reached for the light switch, turning off the small lamp, leaving the room bathed in darkness except for the faint silver glow of the moon filtering in through the curtains.

Before stepping out, he cast one last glance at her. She had already curled into the blanket, her breathing slow and steady, though he knew she was still awake.

Satisfied, he quietly closed the door behind him and made his way to Jayden’s office, his mind shifting to the conversation that awaited him.

Jayden gestured toward the chair opposite him, his expression unreadable. The room was dimly lit, with only the golden glow from the chandelier above casting soft illumination across the dark wooden furniture. The walls were lined with towering bookshelves filled with leather-bound volumes, ancient tomes, and documents detailing the history and governance of the pack. A faint trace of burning wood lingered in the air from the fireplace, which crackled gently in the background.

Ryder stepped forward, settling into the chair as he observed Jayden. Aside from being his Beta, Ryder was also his close friend as well as Dexter. They had been through countless battles together, and even before Jayden became Alpha, Ryder had stood by his side.

Ryder leaned back slightly, waiting for Jayden to speak. The Alpha’s eyes flickered with something unreadable as he set aside the documents he had been reviewing.

Finally, Jayden exhaled and reached for the whiskey glass he had barely touched, taking a slow sip before his gaze locked onto Ryder’s.

“I called you here because I need your advice,” Jayden said, his tone measured. “Right now, I’m not speaking to you as your Alpha, but as your friend.”

Ryder arched a brow, intrigued by the shift in tone. Jayden wasn’t one to ask for advice lightly.

“I’m listening.”

He crossed his legs, his posture relaxed yet attentive, and reached for the bottle of whiskey on the desk. Pouring himself a drink, he swirled the amber liquid in his glass before taking a sip, waiting for Jayden to continue.

Jayden leaned forward, resting his elbows on the desk. His eyes darkened slightly, a storm brewing beneath the surface.

“Tomorrow, I’m going to select new Alphas for the vacant packs,” he began, his voice steady. “And I was thinking
You’ve been by my side even before I became Alpha. You and Dexter. So I thought Instead of picking random people from the pack, why not choose my own people?”

Ryder frowned, his fingers tightening slightly around his glass. There was something weighty in Jayden’s words. Something he wasn’t saying outright.

“What do you mean?” Ryder asked, his brows furrowing.

Jayden didn’t hesitate. “I want to make you Alpha of the Blue Moon.”

Silence hung between them, thick and unyielding.

Ryder’s grip on his glass tightened as his mind processed the words. The Blue Moon Pack—that was ruled by Alpha Nicholas—was now without leadership. Nicholas had been demoted only two days ago, and his daughter had been killed by Jayden’s own hands.

A pack without an Alpha was a dangerous thing. Chaos would fester, and unrest would spread like wildfire if left unchecked. Ryder knew that. Jayden knew that. And now, Jayden was offering him the position.

The weight of it settled in Ryder’s chest. He met Jayden’s gaze, searching for something—perhaps an explanation, or maybe a sign that this was some kind of test.

But Jayden’s face remained unreadable.

Ryder set his glass down, his fingers drumming lightly against the armrest of his chair as he let the words sink in.

Alpha of the Blue Moon.

A role once held by a man whose own daughter’s blood had stained Jayden’s hands.

Jayden leaned back in his chair, his fingers idly tracing the rim of his glass before taking another slow sip of whiskey. His golden yellow eyes remained locked on Ryder, unreadable yet expectant.

“With you as the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack
Dexter will become my Beta,” Jayden continued, his tone unwavering.

Ryder exhaled sharply, his fingers tightening around his own glass as he processed the words.

“I
I don’t know,” Ryder admitted, shaking his head slightly. “I’ve been your Beta for so long, and I’m not complaining about that. But to be an Alpha of a pack all of a sudden
it took me by surprise.” He leaned forward, his eyes searching Jayden’s. “Are you sure about this? I mean, you could always pick out some strong and worthy person from the pack, and I could still be your Beta.”

Jayden scoffed, setting his glass down with a soft thud. His gaze darkened slightly.

“You think I didn’t think about that?” he asked, his voice carrying a sharp edge.

Ryder held his gaze, waiting.

Jayden exhaled through his nose, the frustration in his expression easing as he leaned forward, resting his forearms on the desk.

“With you as the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack, I would have one pack to worry less about,” he explained. “I trust you, Ryder. You’ve stood by my side long before I took this position. You know how I rule. You know my enemies. And most importantly, I don’t want to question anyone’s loyalty in that pack. With you in charge, I won’t have to.”

He paused for a moment before adding, “I don’t want you to think about it. I want you to accept that role.”

Silence stretched between them.

Ryder slowly uncrossed his legs and placed his glass back onto the table, sitting upright. He studied Jayden for a long moment before nodding.

“Okay
but I have something to say.”

Jayden gestured for him to continue.

Ryder didn’t hesitate. His voice was calm, but there was a sharpness to it.

“If I’m going to be the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack
you will have to exile Nicholas. For two reasons.”

That caught Jayden’s attention. He didn’t say anything, but his eyes narrowed slightly, waiting for Ryder to elaborate.

Ryder leaned forward, placing his elbows on his knees. His voice was measured, deliberate.

“The first reason being that you killed his daughter, Klara. And yes, she deserved it.”

Jayden didn’t react—his expression remained as cold and unbothered as ever. But Ryder knew him well enough to catch the slight flicker of amusement in his eyes, as if he was pleased by the reminder of what he had done.

Ryder continued.

“The second reason—if Nicholas is still in the pack, he will continue his plan to overthrow you from the Supreme Alpha position.”

A muscle in Jayden’s jaw ticked.

“He needs to be exiled,” Ryder stated firmly. “Alongside Stephen and Tyler.”

Jayden remained silent for a few seconds.

The weight of Ryder’s words settled in the air between them, thick and suffocating.

Finally, Jayden smirked, his fingers tapping idly against the desk. “ You've got a point there.”

Jayden leaned back into his chair, a slow smirk creeping onto his face. His fingers drummed idly against the wooden surface of the desk as he processed Ryder’s words. The idea of exile wasn’t just appealing—it was necessary.

“That is just what I would do,” Jayden said, his voice laced with finality. “Having all three of them exiled from the pack. That way, I will be reducing my enemies.”

He picked up his glass of whiskey once more, swirling the amber liquid before taking a slow sip. His gaze flickered back to Ryder, a newfound sense of ease settling over him.

“Tomorrow, I will announce it,” he continued. “I will pick new Alphas for the two vacant packs, and you will be the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack, while Leonard will still remain the Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack.”

Jayden set his glass down, exhaling slowly. For the first time that night, he felt a bit more relaxed. But Ryder wasn’t as easily satisfied.

“Do you trust Leonard?” Ryder asked suddenly, his tone sharp.

Jayden’s relaxed demeanor instantly vanished. His expression hardened, his brows furrowing slightly as his fingers stilled against the desk.

“I do not.”

There was no hesitation in his answer. His eyes darkened, the weight of his thoughts evident.

“That is why I need you to watch over him for me.”

Ryder held his gaze for a moment before nodding. “I will do just that.”

Jayden smirked again, pleased. “That will be all
Thank you, Ryder. You can leave.”

Ryder nodded once more and rose to his feet, ready to leave. He had just turned towards the door when Jayden’s voice suddenly cut through the air.

“Wait.”

Ryder stopped in his tracks, turning back. “Yes?”

Jayden’s expression darkened, his lips curling slightly in irritation as he leaned forward.

“About the little witch that you shelter
”

The moment those words left Jayden’s mouth, Ryder’s body tensed. His jaw clenched slightly, but he remained composed, waiting for Jayden to continue.

“I don’t care about her,” Jayden said flatly, his voice carrying a lethal edge. “But if she ever steps foot in my room again, I won’t hesitate to make her cease to exist.”

Ryder’s grip on the back of the chair tightened slightly, but he didn’t argue. He knew better than to challenge Jayden when he spoke with such certainty.

“Your job is to watch over her in case she turns out to be a spy from Ryan,” Jayden continued, his piercing gaze locked onto Ryder. “And as far as I’m aware, she hasn’t shown any signs of being a threat to the pack. I won’t say this again.”

The warning was clear. Final.

Ryder inhaled deeply “I understand.”

Jayden gave a curt nod, dismissing him without another word.

Ryder turned and left the study room, the weight of the conversation pressing heavily on his shoulders. As he walked away, Jayden’s eyes followed his retreating figure, his mind already shifting to the next move in his game of dominance and control.
