RELEASING YOUR POTENTIAL:

I've come to know and understand that life is meant to be a never-ending education, a journey of discovery and adventure, an exploration into our God-given potential for His glory.

So what then is potential? Potential in this context simply means an ability that someone has that can be DEVELOPED to help that person become SUCCESSFUL. In other words, potential is that unique talents, skills and abilities buried within you that if tapped into and used will bring about transformation in your life, family and world.

Now, it's important that we know and understand that one cannot effectively release/unleash his potential if he has not discover God's purpose for giving him life.

Our potential and purpose are perfectly related because God never requires us to do or be something that is not part of His purpose.

Likewise, He never requires something of us that He did not provide for when He created us. Thus, it's our potential that will enables us to fulfill our purpose, and our purpose reveals the potential hidden within us.

Very importantly, the questions we ought to often ask ourselves are: what am I living for? Am I in the centre of God's will and purpose for my life? What impact am I making with my potential? Does my daily engagement brings me a step closer to the accomplishment of my purpose here on earth? What account have I to give to the Lord if I were to stand before Him today? If God should call for my soul today, what one reason why He should give me one more day on earth?

Beloveth, our existence is for a reason. We're not here for nothing. There's a reason for our coming and that's to make a positive impact in our spheres of influence with our individual God's given potential for His glory.

In closing, I want you to know that the key to maximizing your full potential is to discover the purpose or the reason for your life and commit to its fulfillment at all costs.

Thanks for reading!

Some Important Qualities That Should Be Non-Negotiable in a Partner (Continues)

4. Openness

Keeping secrets, hiding thoughts and behaviors, and glossing over difficult circumstances rapidly erode the trust and intimacy that are crucial to a loving relationship. If your partner is circumspect, refuses to discuss important matters, or tries to deflect questions, take it as a sign that she is not ready for a serious relationship.

Some Important Qualities That Should Be Non-Negotiable in a Partner (Continues)

2. Empathy:

Empathy is the ability to put yourself into another person’s shoes and connect with his emotions. Equal parts compassion, active listening, and helpful problem solving, empathy can be learned with repeated practice. If your partner has trouble showing empathy, explain exactly what behaviours you expect. If she shows genuine effort, be patient, but if she refuses to try, it might be better to move on.

Some Important Qualities That Should Be Non-Negotiable in a Partner

1. Integrity

Love is hard work, and only someone with a strong character is well prepared to handle its challenges. Look for honesty tempered by compassion, reliability, dependability, and an unflinching ability to meet life head on. Your partner should not make promises lightly. When a promise is made, he/she should do everything in his/her power to honor that promise. When things go awry, a person with integrity owns his/her portion of responsibility and works toward a solution.

Some Notable Signs You Are Not Ready For Marriage (Continues)

5. Your Mind Still Wanders:

If you’re in a relationship and you’re apprehensive about marrying your partner because you feel that someone better (looks or general attributes) could be around the corner, then, marriage is not for you. You’re a time waster. You shouldn’t be in that relationship in the first instance.

When you want to get married, you should feel confident that the person you’re meeting at the altar is the best for you and if you’re feeling otherwise, tell your partner early enough (and not on your wedding day) that you can’t go into marriage with him/her. This will save the marriage from hitting the rock if you go into it with such feelings.

She Said He Was Too Poor To Marry Her. Now 10 Years Later...WHOA!

Put God first, and all else will follow. This is a message I’ve heard over and over in Church. It sounds easy, right? But sometimes our impatience can get the best of us. With so many temptations here on earth, it’s easy to lose focus on the treasures that await us in heaven.

Money is one such temptation. Some folks find themselves so intent on the pursuit of money; they quickly lose sight of things that are far more important and rewarding. Like the woman in the fictional story below. This is a story that has been around for years, with a very real lesson on what’s really important in life.

Please read on to see what that lesson is…

A poor boy was in love with a rich man’s daughter.

One day, the boy proposed to her, and the girl said, “Your monthly salary is equivalent to my daily expenses. How can I be involved with you?”

She went on, “How could you have thought of that? I can never love you, so forget about me and get engaged to someone else of your level.”

But for some reason, the boy could not forget her so easily.

Roughly 10 years later, they stumbled into each other in a shopping mall.

She immediately said, “Hey, you! How are you? Now I’m married, and do you know how much my husband’s salary is? $15,700 per month! Can you beat that? And he is also very smart.”

The man’s eyes became wet with tears on hearing those words from the woman he used to care for.

A few seconds later, her husband came around. But before the lady could say a word, her husband saw the man and said, “Sir, you’re here! And you’ve met my wife!”

Then he turned to his wife, “This is my boss who runs the $100 million project I’ve been working on!”

“And if you want to know something strange about him, he once loved a lady but he couldn’t win her heart. That’s why he has remained unmarried since.”

He went on, “How lucky would that lady have been if she had married this man right here?”

The lady looked in total shock but couldn’t utter a word.

As a lady, accepting marriage proposal should not be based on money but should clearly be based on love, your partner’s dreams and vision which give you great hopes for the future together. But what this fictional story does help to illustrate is how impatience and rushing to judgment can hurt us in the long run.

The woman from the story looked only at the short term when the boy proposed, insisting on having riches right now. But in her impatience, she wound up sacrificing far greater riches that would have followed had she waited.

The rewards here on earth could never compete with what God promises us in heaven. So, as temptations come and go, be careful how you prioritize things. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and all else will follow.

“Make no store of wealth for yourselves on earth, where it may be turned to dust by worms and weather, and where thieves may come in by force and take it away. But make a store for yourselves in heaven, where it will not be turned to dust and where thieves do not come in to take it away: for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is evil, all your body will be dark. If then the light which is in you is dark, how dark it will be! No man is able to be a servant to two masters: for he will have hate for the one and love for the other, or he will keep to one and have no respect for the other. You may not be servants of God and of wealth.” Matthew 6:19-24.

Some Notable Signs You Are Not Ready For Marriage (Continues)

4. You're Being Pressured:

Are you getting married because of threats or ultimatums? If this is the case, you shouldn’t be getting married. Marriage should be entered by the free will of two people who love and respect one another. If you’re being pressured to get married, it’s time to reevaluate the basis of the relationship.
