But, that is not the question, the upbeat in the media last week was the release of projected economy outlook for the year 2022. The lesson from the release may be linked to the assumption upon which the projections were made and the socio-economic events that are likely to take place in the calendar year.
Socio-Economic Events
Tightening Monetary Policy – likely global advisory trend to fight inflation, increased labour union activities – likely happenstance if subsidy were removed on petroleum products, more flexibility in exchange rate – reducing the cost of defending the Naira, face off competitors and Increased investment to face off competition, fiscal policy impeded by political consideration – fallout of 2023 general election which is around the corner.
Therefore, one will like to inform businesses and individuals on the need to take the expert opinion into considerations in their business operations and daily endeavors. An assessment will be okay – if you are likely to be impacted by a tighter monetary policy, strike actions from labour unions, unstable exchange rates, and competition – please take preventive and remedial actions.

HOW DIFFERENT IS DIFFERENT???
No pressure, but the question must be asked especially now that the calendar year is running to an end. How different is different?
It is historical, it is about comparing means, comparing different alternatives based on events and outcomes. No doubt, in the course of the year we all have generated historical data – it is now time to review. Please remember, NO PRESSURE, it is just a review.
How different is different?? A simple observation will do if you don’t have access to high-end analytical tools. Like it is said in sales – ‘it is a must do’? It is a must do for businesses, it is a must do for individuals and also governmental and non-governmental organisations.
But remember no matter the outcome of your measurement, there should be no pressure. Pressure based on emotion may do more damage. So, are the differences in results far and wide from your expectations? Are the results and the expectations close? Take measurements and be armed with the knowledge, take appropriate steps for better results next year. That is the step we are taking at Akobe Limited and Magbagbe™.
