Why I decided to build FrontStore.
I’ve always believed that one of the biggest challenges of building a business in Africa isn’t a lack of ideas.
It’s access.
Access to the right tools.
Access to technology.
Access to customers.
Access to systems that make it easier to actually run a business.
I’ve watched many small business owners build amazing products, only to struggle with the digital side of their businesses.
They have the product.
They have the passion.
They have customers.
But suddenly, they’re expected to figure out websites, online stores, payments, marketing, product management, customer communication, orders, analytics, and a hundred other things.
And honestly, it shouldn’t have to be that complicated.
That’s one of the reasons I decided to build FrontStore.
I wanted to create something that could give a business owner the confidence to say:
“I can take my business online.”
Without needing to be a developer.
Without needing to understand complicated technology.
Without needing a huge budget.
FrontStore is still early, and I know we have a LOT to improve.
But every time I see a merchant create a store, list a product, get a customer, or use something we built to solve a real problem, it reminds me why we started.
We’re not just trying to build another e-commerce platform.
We’re trying to build something that can help African businesses become more visible, more efficient, and more competitive in a digital economy.
I don’t know exactly how far FrontStore will go.
But I know why we started.
And I’m genuinely excited about what we’re building.
This is just the beginning. 🚀
