TREASURES OF WISDOM WITH MICHAEL DENNIS
FEBRUARY 20

GENESIS 29:1-35

MEMORY VERSE: Gen 29:20 And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.

THE JOY OF SERVING THE LORD
Why is serving the Lord such a bore to many professing Christians? What can spice up your service to the Master and make you want to be with Him at all times; to listen for an instruction and to carry out His eternal wishes? What is that missing ingredient that has starved your worship and service of the joy that the preacher talks about and that you have seen a few others exude?
The missing ingredient is that passion, called ‘Love’. An understanding of God’s love for you is the greatest motivation you need to serve the Him. Your reciprocal love for God is however, the focus of today’s study. Your love for the Lord is measured by how passionate you are about Him. How much resources, energy and time you commit into the service of Jehovah is the pointer of how much value you place on Him. A passionate Love for God is gasoline that fuels a joyous service; nothing else. If this is missing, every other service will be a nagging tramp in the valley of despair and duty. It would be a mare obligation devoid of the excitement of being a co-worker with God in His vineyard. Peter describes the people with such passion for the Lord in 1Peter 1:8 as loving, believing, rejoicing ‘with joy unspeakable and full of glory’ even in the midst of manifold temptations.
What are you ready to give in your service to the Lord? What are you willing to give up in other to please your Savior? Jacob joyously and lovingly gave up seven ‘unrecognized’ years to win Rachael over. So deep was his passion and desire to be with Rachael that he served another seven years for her. Think about this and make up your mind while there’s still time.
As you take the step that Jacob did for Rachael for the Lord, ‘the things of this earth will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace’. Make this your prayer today and always.

Prayer: Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee. Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise. Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of Thy love. Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

TREASURES OF WISDOM WITH MICHAEL DENNIS

JULY 27

NUMBERS 3: 7-51
MEMORY VERSE: Num 3:7 And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle.

YOU HAVE AN ASSIGNMENT

No man is useless. Everyone has an assignment to fulfill. He just needs to discover this assignment before he can work it out. Dear child of God, you have a divinely ordained mission to accomplish here on earth; this is why you are still alive to read this.
Amongst the whole congregation of the people of Israel, the tribe of Levi was set apart to serve in the temple. Yesterday, we saw how that every child of the kingdom of God is anointed to fill a role. God has set you forth as light to illuminate the lives of those in darkness. He called you as the salt to sweeten and preserve lives by the power of the Spirit.
In my private studies, I discovered that many of the great inventors of past years, even in the field of science were men who had a relationship with God. Some penned down great hymns that are still blessing countless millions after many generations. Others wrote live transforming books because they discovered their divine assignments.
God left you here on earth to transform it to His glory. He has given you the gift of time. What are you doing with it? He has given you the greatest of all gifts; eternal life and the power of His Holy Spirit. Are you going to let these waste?
Abraham discovered his mission at the age of seventy five; yet he fulfilled it. Age was no barrier to him. Joseph discovered his at a tender age and he fulfilled it. His age or youthfulness did not deter him. Though faced with all forms of discouragement, he persevered and became prominent.
God has left you as a gift to humanity and as solution to a problem. When will you discover your assignment and rise up to accomplish it. Seek the Lord, He is your creator and He it is knows what He made you for.

Prayer: I am taking my place on earth. I will not die unfulfilled. I am accomplishing that God by divine destiny designed for me to accomplish. I am a blessing to my generation and beyond. My life is bringing glory and honor to God. In Jesus name. Amen.

JULY 26
NUMBERS 3: 1-6
MEMORY VERSE: Num 3:3 These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests which were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest's office.

ANOINTED AND CONSECRATED
According to our text above; to anoint is to rub with oil and by implication, to be chosen or appointed by God. Every child of God has a measure of the anointing of the Holy Spirit on or in him. He has been chosen by God to fill a specific role within the body of Christ; but he must go a step further to be consecrated in order to effectively fill that role.
The word consecrate in the above reference is the Hebrew word ‘MALE’; it means to fill or be made full, furnish, give in fully or satisfy. It is the work or duty of the Lord to anoint us and fill us with His Holy Spirit; but we must furnish ourselves with every other necessary ingredient to succeed. No, matter how much anointing a man carries, if he does not pray or spend time in the study of the word, the anointing may not take him very far. The beautiful forces of piety and power for holy living are strengthened in the place of fellowship with prayer and the word of God.
To consecrate is to take steps in the direction of the anointing or the call. There is much difference between a called or anointed man from someone who is not anointed. However, he is as infective as someone who is not called unless he consecrates himself by being furnished with the right training for service and the right attitude to his master. A student blessed with good memory who does not study his books will definitely fail irrespective of his endowment. Likewise, an anointed man who will not strive towards excellence or get filled with the needed knowledge and skill to fulfill his mission will not get very far.
There must therefore be the desire to give in fully to every instruction of God if an anointed man is to succeed in his call. Obedience to divine instructions propels the anointing of the anointed to the place of excellence and prominence.
Jesus is our perfect example of the anointed, yet these are what the word says about Him; ‘and He went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them. Luke 2:51. Though He was God, yet He humbled Himself before His earthy parents. Though highly anointed, He had to learn the ways of humans. ‘But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.’ John 5:17. A lazy anointed man cannot lead a consecrated life and therefore will not go far. Jesus fasted for forty days to consecrate Himself to the divine service. What are you doing with your anointing?

Prayer: I consecrate myself to the service of God and I give all diligence to fulfill the purpose for which I am anointed. So help me God. In Jesus name. Amen.

LEVITICUS 27:1-34
MEMORY VERSE: Lev 27:10 He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all change beast for beast, then it and the exchange thereof shall be holy.

DO NOT ALTER IT
Do you remember the sincerity of your soul and the earnestness of your heart when you first contemplated on following Jesus; when in the secrecy of your innermost being, you made a firm commitment to follow Jesus no matter what happens. I beg you today dear friend, do not alter it.
Can you also cast your mind back to that joyous and glorious day when friends and loved ones witnessed how that you stood before the Lords altar; looking into her eyes, you gave her a ring (a never ending circle of love) and vowed to love and cherish her as long as you live; please do not alter it because of the strange woman whose end is bitter as wormwood. This admonition also goes to my sisters as well.
The Lord just delivered you from the jaws of sudden death and you promised to dedicate the rest of your life in His service because of His mighty intervention; do not alter your avowal. The Lord heard it and He trusts you to make good your promise as He makes good His words.
Do you also remember how, many years ago before you got this job, you spent quality time in fellowship with God; reasoning with His words and worshiping in His Holy presence? Do not alter your communion with God because heaven cherishes it and your stability depends on it.
Do not change because the winds of change are blowing your way. Don’t stop praying.

Prayer: Dear father, like Daniel, I make a firm and resolute commitment to follow you for the rest of my life. Trusting only on your grace, I shall not alter this avowal. In Jesus name. Amen.

LEVITICUS 26:1-46
MEMORY VERSE: Lev 26:3 If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;
Lev 26:4 Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit

THE REWARDS OF OBEDIENCE
This chapter is all about the blessings or rewards of obedience and curses or consequences of disobedience. God, in His sovereignty has so designed that any man who obeys Him will experience the rewards of the obedient and vice versa.
It is wise to obey and foolish to disobey. Obeying God may seem difficult sometimes; but the benefits of doing so far outweigh the processes. Likewise, disobedience may seem enjoyable and an easy way, but the consequences far outweighs the enjoyment. The choice is yours.
The grace of God is available to you to live the obedient life. It is not a license to go in disobedience but an empowerment to please God. It was the disobedience of Adam that brought pain to the human race; but the obedience of Jesus brought redemption, heaven and forgiveness.
Let us wisely chose the way of the Master for there is no better way. There is no other way.
When you obey God, He will fight your battles for you. We are in a covenant of grace and mercy with the Father; when we keep our part, He is bound by His word (He cannot lie) to keep His part.

Prayer: I receive your grace oh lord to be obedient to your every instruction. From this moment onwards, my life shall be pleasing to you in all things as I place myself under the blessing of the obedient. In Jesus name. Amen.

LEVITICUS 21:1-24
MEMORY VERSE: Lev 21:21 No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God..

NO MORE BLEMISHES
The power in the blood of Jesus Christ destroys every blemish from the life of anyone who comes under its strong flow. The blood has the potency to deal with the blemishes of the past, present and of anyone who pleads it on his life. No form of physical or spiritual deformity can render a man whose life the blood has cleansed unfit for the service and purpose of the Lord.
It is the blood of Jesus that makes me worthy; for in it is His life. The blood of Jesus is His life. His life destroys every trace of death or blemish and infuses its carrier with the very power of God. I have no strength of my own for the service of the master. I cannot approach the Lord’s tabernacle but for His blood poured out for me by His gracious mercy.
This is the good news of the New Testament; I have been made fit to stand and serve the Lord my God. I have been separated from the dead. I am among the living. When the dying thief on the cross accepted the blood sacrifice; he came under its cleansing torrent, the Lord destroyed his blemishes and took him to paradise. A life without blemish is a glorious life. It is a wonder to behold because it is a life set apart for God alone.
As I present myself daily before the Lord, not only does the blood cleanse me; I am washed by the water of His eternal word. I can eat of the bread of life because the Lord Himself has taken all my blames. No more blemishes.
Eph 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Prayer: Lord I stand as a priest in your house to offer you the sacrifices of praise and love because you cleansed me of my blemishes. Thank you for your blood. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

LEVITICUS 20:13-27
MEMORY VERSE: Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

BEHAVING WELL (6). SEXUAL MALPRACTICES
S*x was created by God to be enjoyed by two married people of opposite s*xes and not the same s*x. As it is popularly said; ‘God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve’. No matter how nice Hollywood paints the picture and the American or any other government of the world sees it; it is against nature for same s*xes to lie together. No matter how eloquent ‘gay bishops’ wax on the pulpit; so**my will never have the good sanctioning of heaven.
Nature itself detests it. Heaven frowns at it and the lake of fire is the final destination of everyone that practices it unless he or she repents and accept the unconditional love of Lord.
There has been no and I believe that there will never be any scientific proof to support the theory that being gay is biological. Even if they do, it will die the natural death like that of evolution. The bible clearly states that those that engage in it deliberately do “not like to retain God in their knowledge”.
See, the Lord loves the homos*xual but detests the act. Please do not treat them with disdain. If anyone needs to be loved or shown great interest, it should those who engage in such practices because they are simply victims of identity crisis. They are just living the lie that the devil sold to them. Had they know the original intent of God for their lives, they would not engage in it. If they would come to the saving and loving knowledge of Christ Jesus and His precious plan for their lives they will run away from it.
In the seventh and eighth verse of our text, the Lord demands holiness and sanctification. We must depend on Him to help us at all times.
In**st, be******ty and other forms of s*xual malpractice are all crimes before the Lord. They are degrading to the human nature and absurd. They reduce those who practice them less than the beasts in the forest. They should not be mentioned among the children of the kingdom.
Rom 1:18 God's anger is revealed from heaven against all the sin and evil of the people whose evil ways prevent the truth from being known.

Rom 1:26 Because they do this, God has given them over to shameful passions. Even the women pervert the natural use of their s*x by unnatural acts.
Rom 1:27 In the same way the men give up natural s*xual relations with women and burn with passion for each other. Men do shameful things with each other, and as a result they bring upon themselves the punishment they deserve for their wrongdoing.
Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Prayer: Lord I take pleasure in only the things that bring you pleasure. As iniquity abounds, Lord keep me steadfastly in your Love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
