HOLY SPIRIT AND THE MINISTRY OF ANGELS

“Though I speak with tongues of men and of angels and gave not charity I am become as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal” 1 Corinthians 13:1

One thing to know about tongues is that the Holy Spirit is the One that interprets what is being communicated. So the tongues of angels are the tongues that angels understand as interpreted by the Holy Ghost. So the Holy Ghost is the One that supervises the ministry of angels.
Angels the bible says, are ministering spirits sent to minister for them that are to be the heirs of salvation according to Hebrews 1:14. They are meant to minster for believers as directed by the Holy Ghost. That is why you don’t pray to angels and you don’t determine the activity of angels in your life. The Holy Spirit determines what angels do in the affairs of a believer. That is why those who maintain intimacy with the Holy Spirit enjoy the activity of angels effortlessly and at all times. Those who pray abundantly in tongues enjoy the ministry of angels. Angels are at the service of those that carry the presence of the Holy Ghost around them. Angels are seen around them at times unknown to them. Angels are not uncommon around those with heavy ‘dose’ of the presence of God.
It was an angel that heralded the work of the Holy Ghost in Mary’s womb for the conception of Jesus. It was an angel that also heralded the work of the Holy Ghost to raise Jesus from the dead by rolling away the stone from the grave. So the ministry of angels is a direct ministry for the workings of the Holy Spirit in and around the life of a man. So being in close fellowship with the Holy Spirit makes the ministry of angels to be active around a person. The ministry of angels was abundant around Jesus and so He was able to carry out His assignment effectively. That is also how the ministry of angels is necessary for any one that must accomplish their assignment for God on earth. So profit from that ministry by responding to the Holy Spirit who is the Spirit above all spirits including angels, so that you are adequately assisted to fulfil your assignment on earth. Get set to fulfil your destiny by maintaining intimacy with the Holy Spirit, so that you can enjoy the ministry of angels in Jesus name.

WALKING IN THE SPIRIT

“If we live in the spirit, let us also walk in the spirit” Galatians 5:25

Real spirituality is in walking in the spirit. Walking in the spirit is what makes one access the blessings of God for His children. Walking in the spirit is what delivers one from satanic snares and traps. Walking in the spirit is vital for a fulfilled Christian life on earth.
To walk in the spirit is to live in the spirit. To live in the spirit is to be more concerned about spiritual things than physical things. To walk in the spirit means that there is a strong desire in you for spiritual things. You can’t walk in the spirit if you take light spiritual things. To walk in the spirit is to have your mind set firmly on the things of the spirit. The bible says ‘‘those who live in accordance with the spirit have their minds set on what the spirit desires’’ (Romans 8:5 NIV). Note this: You will always locate the Spirit in spiritual things. The Holy Spirit is not connected with through carnal things. You get intimate with the Holy Spirit as your desire for the things of the spirit increases. Let that be your strong pursuit constantly. Let your mind be concerned about the things of God. Any relationship with the earth and mankind should be done in connection with the Spirit of God.
The flesh has been closer to you before you became born again and is closer to the natural man; for it is more in contact with the physical than with the Spirit. So if you don’t consciously cultivate an atmosphere of the spirit in your daily life, you will degenerate to walking in the flesh. The pull of the flesh is strong when you are not in contact with spiritual things. The desire for worldliness and carnality will prevail over your heart, if you don’t live in the spirit. God designed us to be more aware of spiritual than physical things; for that is the realm where man will enjoy the best of God. When you are more concerned about the things of the spirit, you will grow spiritually and be in charge of your natural or physical outcomes of life. When Adam was conscious (aware) of spiritual things, he was in charge, but when the devil tilted his attention to the physical he fell down from glory to shame. When satan succeeded in making him to give more attention to the physical, he lost his place of dominion; for dominion is exercised from the spirit realm. Don’t fall for the devil’s schemes!

TREASURE FOR TODAY: You get intimate with the Holy Spirit as your desire for the things of the spirit increases.

ASSIGNMENTS: (1) Be determined to be intimate with the Holy Spirit.
(2) Give attention to spiritual activities constantly henceforth. Avoid excuses.

ENGAGING THE WEAPON OF SACRIFICE

“And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too sore for him, then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel..." 2 Kings 3:27

What is the connection between fighting a battle and someone offering his son as a burnt offering? Why did he leave fighting the enemy and turned to giving God a burnt offering? That is what Sacrifice means in warfare. It is a weapon on its own.
When you don’t know what to do concerning an enemy before you, you can turn to God with sacrifice and let God handle the enemy for you. Sacrifice makes your enemy God’s enemy. The chosen people of God Israel became God’s enemy by the sacrifice of a Moabite King. Why will God assist his enemy against his children? It is called the power of sacrifice. Your sacrifice is an attraction of divinity into the battle of humanity. When you want to provoke God to your side, lay down a sacrifice on the altar. The pain associated with sacrifice is the voice that calls on God. Sacrifice is something released that touches the heart, and whatever touches the heart of man touches the heart of God as well. That is why sacrifice is a potent weapon in spiritual warfare.
Jephthah made a sacrificial vow before engaging the enemy. The sacrifice unknown to him was his only daughter and child; and because God knows he was a man of his words, granted him the victory. The daughter agreed to be sacrificed because she had been trained by her father to keep to any vow that had been made to God. She so caught that training that she was the one that encouraged her father to fulfill his vow to God. The sacrifice was key to the victory of Jephthah over the Ammonites (Judges 11:29-40). So engage different dimensions of sacrifice this season over the battle before you. Engage material sacrifice as well as financial sacrifice. Engage in fasting as has never been done before. Let go valuable treasures and let God see your sacrifice and summarize the enemy for you. Fight with sacrifice too.

TREASURE FOR TODAY: The pain associated with sacrifice is the voice that calls on God.

ASSIGNMENTS: (1) Think about the battle before you now and think about what to release as sacrifice
(2) Release whatever is coming to your heart that is truly sacrificial to you.

PRAYER: Help me to always pull the trigger of sacrifice in spiritual warfare to enjoy my victory in Jesus name. Amen.

ENGAGING THE NIGHT SEASON

“And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus” Genesis 14:15

The works of the devil is called the works of darkness. Satanic activity is highest at night. It was “while men slept” that the enemy sowed his evil seeds in Matthew 13:25. The night season is crucial for spiritual warfare. Maximize that season to enjoy victory.
God’s servant Dr. Paul Enenche once said “The best time to attack the works of darkness, is when it is dark” It is like meeting him when he is out for assignment. The night season is when to arrest him on assignment. You can uproot whatever he is trying to sow at night. You can destroy what he is trying to install in the night, many issues that people struggle with in the day were projected or installed by night. Some of the arrows that flies by day where fired by night. You will do your destiny good by engaging the enemy in the night season. The mediums they use for operations are mediums that walk in darkness. When Christ says He has given us the power to trample on “snakes” and “scorpions”, He was using animals whose activities are done hideously and mostly in the dark. You need to understand that powers of evil or powers of darkness. Employ the weapons of God in the night and dismantle the agenda of the devil, so that you can enter your possession in the day and enjoy it.
The Israelites’ captivity in Egypt ended at night, when God executed judgments on the gods of Egypt. Our opening verse shows us how Abraham recovered his nephew Lot and his goods. It was a battle done by night. The city gate where the enemies of Samson stationed to attack him in the day, was removed by Samson at midnight (Judges 16:2-3) David recovered his family and his people from the Amalekites that invaded Ziklag in his absence by night. He took them by surprise and recovered all. (1 Samuel 30) You too can recover when you engage the night season. Christ engaged the night season. Angelic discharge for rescue is more at night. Maximize the night season!

IDENTIFYING THE REAL ENEMIES

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12 (NIV)

In enjoying your possession, maintaining your position and walking in divine protection and peace; the warfare to engage in is not with human being having flesh and blood. Human beings can be used as agents but the real battle is against spiritual forces. Forces to contend with include the following:
(1) Territorial Spirits: There are spirits in every territory determining the flow of things in that territory. They determine what flows in and out of the city. You need to battle and destroy the power of such spirits to be able to access what is yours. A picture of such operations is the territorial spirit over the kingdom of Persia that interfered with the answer of Daniel to end the captivity of Judah. (Daniel 10:12 – 13) If they are not dealt with, they will limit your level of increase.
(2) Diabolic Powers: These are human agents in agreement with the devil to divert the opportunities or favour in a particular field of endeavor through diabolical means. They use witchcraft powers to prevail over those in that area and seem to determine the traffic of resources. Haman used diabolic powers to divert the king’s attention to him and to take the place that Mordecai deserved. But after the fasting and prayer of Esther and the Jews, it was broken (Esther 3, 4, 5, 6).
(3) Family Forces: There are ancestral altars and covenants that are being perpetuated down the line that the devil wants to use against a person’s life. The influence of such forces needs to be broken so that they don’t limit a person from having all that is meant for them. Gideon’s destiny could not open up until he destroyed the altar in his father’s house. He did that and the nonentity became a celebrity. (Judges 6: 25-28)
(4) Occultic Powers: These are a group of people in fraternity with the devil, forming an alliance to determine what goes on in a place. They seek to dominate others. They cast spells on others, limiting them from going up, and eliminating them where possible. God showed Ezekiel these occultic men in Ezekiel 11:1-2, and as Ezekiel prophesied, their chief died. (Vs 13)

TREASURE FOR TODAY: Human beings can be used as agents but the real battle is against spiritual forces.

ASSIGNMENTS: (1) Take note of the different dimensions of forces meant to be addressed in spiritual warfare
(2) Pray in line with revelations you receive in line with these points

PRAYER: Lord, I establish the defeat of all powers resisting my life from any angle in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

ATTACK OR BE ATTACKED

“And David came to Baal-Perazim, and David smote them there and said, The Lord hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters” 2 Samuel 5:20

If you don’t understand attack, you won’t enjoy defense. Your enemy is looking for how to get through to you. If you don’t know spiritual warfare you will always be a victim of Satan’s attack. You are defended to the degree to which you are warfare ready.
Job did not understand spiritual warfare and he was a victim of Satan’s attack. He saw what happened to him as from God. He said “The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord” (Job 1:21). He did not know about the devil, just like others in the Old Testament times never knew nor had power over the devil. You need to understand that the devil is out to bring about losses and pain in one area of your life or another. You need to engage the powers of darkness that are out to attack you in battle. You have to be sensitive and know when to destroy any intention of the devil against you. You need to fortify your life against satanic invasion. You need to destroy every satanic installation around your life, before they launch their attack against you. You need to prayerfully frustrate every satanic agent stationed around your life, before they use them against you. In warfare prayers, expose every plot of the enemy to attack you and introduce confusion amidst the conspirators against you.
The areas to watch out for the devils attack is in the area of your body and your goods. You need to destroy every plan of the enemy to attack your health and that of your loved ones. The devil projects arrows of affliction which needs to be repelled back in prayer. Sudden pains and aches are functions of satanic darts. Losses of one kind or another in successions is an attack. Spiritually strengthen your wall of defense from invading forces of destruction. Speak the words of God that guarantees your protection over your goods and properties constantly. Plead the power in the blood of Jesus for protection of your goods and the preservation of your body. Be on the offensive in warfare; for victory is in the offensive not the defensive.

TREASURE FOR TODAY: If you don’t know spiritual warfare you will always be a victim of Satan’s attack.

ASSIGNMENTS: (1) Consciously carry out the counsels in the third paragraph
(2) Don’t despise any revelation of the devil’s attack you receive.

WARFARE AROUND YOUR POSITION

“But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel all the Philistines came up to seek David….” 2 Samuel 5:12

Every enviable position is attained and retained by warfare. You don’t climb the mountain without pressure. You can’t take a flight without a fight. Every position you are aspiring to needs a degree of fight to take you there. Spiritual warfare is therefore crucial if you will attain to a position of influence in life.
Bishop Thomas D. Jakes once said “Every new level comes with a new devil”. That is, every new position is usually faced with a new level or dimension of opposition. That was what happened in our opening verse today. Before David became king, he fought different dimensions of battle. When he ascended the throne and became king over Israel, the philistines showed up. It is your engagement of the enemy in a fight over your position, that will determine whether you will retain it or not. That you are married doesn’t mean that’s the end. There are ladies out there still eyeing your husband. Anti-marital forces can still be attacking the marriage for it to break up. You need to fight to keep it. After wedding, it has not ended. The devil might proceed further to try to stop you from having children or might plague the family with one kind of mishap or the other. It could also either be a new position in your office or your privileged position as the first born in the family. Just know that your position is another’s desire directly or indirectly. If you can’t fight to keep it, you might lose it.
You don’t need to look for the enemy’s trouble to be troubled. You need to be warfare ready at all times. Be constantly engaging the enemy and his works around your life and family. Don’t wait for the devil to strike first instead attack his works constantly. You might be a victim before you know it, if you can’t attack first. So, be releasing your spiritual ammunitions against any power eyeing your position either as a manager of a company, or as the Head of Department. Be prayerfully warring against forces of darkness so as to keep your position. God will help you in position if you will fight. Be a spiritual fighter.

TREASURE FOR TODAY: You don’t need to look for the enemy’s trouble to be troubled.

BE PASSIONATE TILL THE END

“And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven” 2 kings 2: 11

Imagine a human being with flesh and blood being carried by horses and chariots of fire and he was not burnt. Elisha ran from the fire but Elijah ran into the fire chariots and horses and went up to heaven. It is because, Elijah was fire personified and so could not be consumed; because fire doesn’t consume fire. That fire is called passion.
Elijah was a whole bundle of passion. He appeared on the scene like a ball of fire on the scene of Israel’s history, without any genealogical or ancestral introduction. He was just known as Elijah the Tishbite. He pursued his purpose with all passion. He shut up heavens by passionate prayers. He brought back rain after praying with passion. He executed judgment of the prophets of Baal with all passion. He roasted those sent to arrest him with fire and he exited life with the same passion (fire). Actually people of passion are people of fire. When John the Baptist said Christ will baptize with fire, he was referring to passion. It was passion that was birthed in the apostles on Pentecost that was signaled as tongues of fire. So let your life be a life of passion, in pursuit of God’s agenda for your life.
Be out every day with passion to please God and carry out your assignment. Don’t let down your guards with reference to passion. Don’t enter oblivion while still alive. If a door closes, don’t be stuck looking at the door; look for the next available door and pour in your passion, don’t be planning to slow down your passion for any reason. It is the quickest route to exiting life prematurely. Have monthly and yearly agenda to pursue aggressively. Even if you are winding up your stay in a location, continue passionately till you exit that place. Note this: You are already old whether you are twenty–five or seventy-five if you lose your passion. Keep making impact passionately. Keep expanding your business, keep evangelizing with all passion. Keep giving out, keep raising people. Be determined to exit life in fire (passion) like Elijah.

PASSION AND IMPACT

“Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren what shall we do” Acts 2:37

The impact of a bullet is not in the bullet but the source from which it is shot. It is the velocity with which the bullet is released that determines the effect of the bullet. Just the way David’s stone alone could not have killed Goliath except that it was assisted by an invisible force; that is how impact is usually an outcome of the force from the source. Passion gathers sufficient force around a tool for impact.
Any vision without passion cannot become a successful mission. Any information without passion will not bring about conviction. Any counsel without passion will seem only like an advice. The persuasion conveyed by your action is tied to the degree of passion that follows it. Combining the necessary ingredients of a meal in a pot does not make a food. It is the fire that comes to it that turns the combination into a delicious meal. So you need passion to make impact with whatever you are doing. Your potential will not be potent in delivery without passion. It is the passion added to the discharge of your abilities that cause the needed effect on the recipient.
For example, John the Baptist held the nation ransom even though; he did look like the elites in his time. It was not well articulated speeches that made his ministry impactful, but passion. The passion with which Simon Peter also gave his unplanned and inarticulate sermon at Pentecost was what led to the effect in our opening verse today. Ensure that your impact agenda is a function of passion. An area you have no passion for, there is surely going to be little or zero impact. Passion might not be articulated in words but it is usually felt. It doesn’t matter what your area of passion might be, if it is released towards the good of mankind you will see the effect. Let passion drive you in whatever you are doing and you will see effect. Let your gifts, your words, your actions and reactions towards the needs of others be with passion and then it will have a lasting effect. Without passion you can be talented yet frustrated, hardworking yet limited. Do all with passion and make lasting impact on earth.

PASSION COMMANDS FOLLOWERSHIP

“ And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul” 1 Samuel 18:1

Strong passion even on the wrong path commands attention and followership. People are willing to die for and with a man with passion than a man with possessions. No pursuit in life is worth commanding attention, no matter how worthy a cause it is; in the absence of passion. It is passion that transfers conviction on people not explanation. A person of passion usually has no time for explanation. He simply invests his all and people just have to come along, even if they don’t know what the thing really is. That is the power of passion.
Jonathan, a prince in Israel saw a shepherd boy (David) with passion and he made him his best friend. Jonathan was obviously far older than David, since he was already a warrior in the class of his father Saul. He dropped that and accepted to befriend a ‘raw’ guy from the ‘bush’ that had passion. Later it was four hundred young men that gathered around David and followed him when he did not even have where to lay his head. (1 Samuel 22:2) Title or age can be dropped towards a person of passion. Gender is not considered when passion is in place. Disabilities are ignored when a person of passion is involved. All what you can see as an excuse, will be inconsequential if you have passion. Those who are literate will follow one that is illiterate when there is passion. That is because oppositions have no respect for literacy but for tenacity. If people can see how passionate you are, they will see reasons to come along. People will not be interested until they see your passion.
Passion draws people in followership for three (3) reasons:

(1) Participation – People are willing to participate in the direction of a person with passion
(2) Donation- People are drawn to donate towards the cause of a man that has strong passion
(3) Impartation: Passive people are also drawn to be imparted with the same passion that they have seen in another.
Your prayer to attract followership will be answered by your level of passion. Fan the passion to flame, and people will turn aside in your direction; hence followership. Passion is a fire that attracts. Refer to John the Baptist “a burning and shining light” (John 5:35)

TREASURE FOR TODAY: People are willing to die for and with a man with passion than a man with possessions.

(2) Increase knowledge around your passion

“The guard in the watchtower said, “Your majesty, the rider got there but he isn’t coming back either. Wait a minute! That one man is a reckless chariot driver, it must be Jehu” 2kings 9:20 (CEV)

People of passion are people of speed. Such ones cover large areas in a short time. If you will enjoy speed in life, then you ought to be a person of passion. Passivity does not assist velocity. It is passion that always guarantees acceleration. You have to decide to stop wasting the time of your life, by a passionless existence.
Note this: Lack of passion is the mother of a life of stagnation. A person of passion presses through barriers. Obstacles seem to give way for passion. Demons cannot successfully resist the speed of a person of strong passion. Angels assist a person with passion. You have to decide to accomplish great things in life for God and humanity, and let your passion be a down-payment to make, for it to become a reality. The truth is that when nothing bothers you, it won’t bother anybody for you. It is the degree of passion that determines the kind of speed you will get in whatever is your pursuit. Whatever it is that will increase your passion will increase your rate of accomplishment in life. Passion is simply the key for breaking even in life. Let there be a fire burning in you towards something, if you will see results. If your passion can’t be quenched then you are surely going to be unstoppable. Forget about failed attempts and develop sufficient passion and see how systems will be set in motion to assist you to the top.
Jehu was a man of strong passion and he was used of God to bring an end to Baal in Israel. His passion did not give him time to deliberate on how to move or strategize after he was anointed. The chapter of our opening verse today was the same chapter he was anointed and he did exploit in that same chapter, at the frequency of passion. He himself said “Come with me and see how I am on fire for the Lord’s cause…” (2kings 10:16) (BBE) It was with such ‘fire’ (passion) that he began his reign. You too have to pursue everything you are doing with passion for exploits and you will enjoy good speed in Jesus name.
