Eight years ago, I had the incredible honor of meeting Rosa Pineda, one of the foundational figures of the Solentiname Primitivismo painting movement. That meeting began a journey that led to Rosa’s iconic artwork becoming the face of our chocolate bars.
Today, I’m in San Carlos with Rosa and her sister, Esmeralda Pineda—a wonderful painter and artisan in her own right. These women represent the essence of Nicaraguan culture. Their work captures the very soul of Solentiname, and having Rosa's art represent our chocolate for nearly a decade is a privilege I don't take lightly. There is nothing quite like the warmth of catching up with old friends who have been such a vital part of the Chocolate Tángara story. 🍫💖
