The name of our brand CharlieMary comes from the names of our founders, who have been working in the Sustainable Fashion field for over 14 years.

A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY
After starting their careers in the traditional fashion industry, Charlotte van Waes and Marieke Vinck soon felt uncomfortable with the way things were done and knew there had to be better ways. They quit their jobs, defined what true fashion meant to them, and founded CharlieMary in 2009. A company on a heartfelt mission to take true fashion from niche to norm.
In 2009 Charlotte and Marieke opened the doors of their first sustainable concept store in The Pijp, in Amsterdam. To increase their impact, in 2012 they launched the first exclusively sustainable fashion agency in the Netherlands. They currently represent six of the most forward-thinking labels in the Benelux.
And in 2021 they launched their own label, working towards a fully circular fashion collection – implementing what they know that can be done in a circular manner – and researching and testing all the next steps forward towards a better fashion future.

This gorgeous jumper is made of 70% post-consumer recycled cotton ♻️

Yep! The yarn for this jumper comes from the Dutch textile sorting company Wieland. They gather and sort the textile thrown away in textile bins.
With a very innovative Fibersort machine, the textile is sorted in different fabric compositions and colours, fabrics are then torn apart and woven into new high-quality yarn and in this case, then knitted into a beautiful undyed raspberry-red jumper. Aha, this stunning colour is the result of the sorting process!
