오늘은 광복절 🇰🇷 Today Korea celebrates Gwangbokjeol, National Liberation Day, marking the end of Japanese colonial rule on August 15, 1945. A day full of pride, meaning, and a whole lot of Korean spirit.

📣Help us fill our storefront with 10 years of love!🫶🏼 10 years doesn’t feel like something we did alone, it feels like something we all built together, one order, one visit, one regular at a time. So we want to celebrate it that way too!❤️

Starting now, we’re turning our storefront window into a wall of your words. Come by, ask the staff for a post-it, and leave us a little congrats note, however you’re feeling about 10 years of Seoul Food. Every note goes right up on the glass, and by the time we hit the big day, we want that whole window covered in your notes❤️❤️

When we opened in 2016, we had one dream: bringing Seoul to you. That was our slogan from day one, not just the taste of Seoul, but everything Seoul had to offer, right here in Amsterdam.

That dream meant a lot of firsts. The first Korean eatery in Amsterdam. The first K-Pop event Amsterdam ever had here. Firsts that felt uncertain at the time, but never felt alone, because people showed up💜💙♥️💚🖤🤍They believed in what we were doing and they kept showing up, again and again.

Jo and Pat put up that sign in 2016. But the 9 years since have never really been just two. They were built by everyone who walked through that door and decided to stay part of this❤️ 10 years coming soon.

Some things don’t change in 9 years ❤️ Same kimchi, same recipe, same care in every jar that goes on that shelf. This is the kimchi that’s been here since day one, since we opened Amsterdam’s first Korean eatery in 2016. Still made the same way, still restocked by the same hands. Seoul Food is turning 10 soon. Meet yakgwa 약과 🍯 These little golden rounds are one of Korea’s most beloved traditional sweets — honey-glazed, lightly spiced, and just chewy enough to make you reach for another one. Think of them as Korea’s answer to a really good biscuit, but with a lot more history behind them.

We’re excited to introduce yakgwa to Seoul Food in collaboration with , a local rice cake maker with generations of craft behind them.

Pair it with our Army Latte (goguma sweet potato latte) or Black Sesame Latte for a full Korean dessert moment without even trying 🖤🪷 Find them at the counter next time you visit 🧡

One more Sunday before we take a summer break 🎷🎸Bertram and Leon are closing out this season of Jazz Sunday on June 28 — guitar and saxophone, easy and warm, exactly the kind of music that makes a slow Sunday afternoon feel like it was made for this.
