A very-high quality Thai patinated bronze head of Buddha Shakyamuni, Sukhothai, 15th century, 32 cm. high, mounted, his face with serene expression, incised eyes, aquiline nose, smiling lips, slightly puffy cheeks, elongated earlobes, curled hairdress and usnisha; damages.

Now new in my sales collection:

A Tibetan patinated bronze sculpture of Yama Dharmaraja and Yami in embrace, representing the primordial (or mystical) union of wisdom and compassion, both standing on a buffalo reclining on a single lotus throne, late 19th century, ca 16 cm. high, 9.5 cm. wide and 5.5 cm. deep, the male deity Yama Dharmaraja representing compassion and skillful means ('upaya'), with a wide-spreading hairdo in which three skulls, his right knee bent, holding a scepter (a 'danda', symbol of reign) in his right hand, a long scarf hanging from his shoulders, in front of him his female companion Yami representing insight or wisdom ('prajna'), wearing a small crown, her left knee bent, her right hand resting on his left forearm, her left arm on its way to embrace him.

A Chinese jadeite lotus-shaped brush washer, ca 1900-1925, ca 3.9 cm. high, 9.2 cm. long and 8.6 cm. wide, the pleated outer wall relief decorated with three water dragons ('li'), on flower-shaped foot ring and with slightly recessed bottom, in excellent condition. Provenance: Blitz Chinese Ceramics & Works of Art, Amsterdam.

A Japanese tasseled leather to***co pouch ('sagemono') with operational copper, wood and staghorn to***co pipe ('kiseru') also functioning as 'netsuke', and engraved red lacquer ware on wood ('urushi') spherical 'ojime', Edo (1614-1868), ca 1850.

- A signed, heavily potted Japanese (Kyoto Prefecture) Satsuma-'yaki' large crackled bowl painted to the centre with two seated female immortals with high headgear and halo accompanied by a standing Chinese boy ('karako') holding a lidded vase, Taisho / Showa, ca 1925.
