Artibooks

Artibooks ARTIBOOKS.COM is TEMPORARILY CLOSED Artibooks was founded in 2016 in Amsterdam by a team of photography enthusiasts. Based in Amsterdam, we ship worldwide.

Although it is a relatively new online photography book and magazine platform it already has quite a broad collection of real photographic gems, like Dream in the Woods by Ata Kandó signed on her 100th birthday or a rare mock-up Soul and Soul, by Kiyoshi Suzuki signed by Machiel Botman, Dutch photographer and curator of Suzuki's exhibition at Noorderlicht's Photo Gallery in 2008. Apart from these

exceptional hard-to-find elsewhere pieces, our collection is also enriched by hot and desired by everyone newly published copies like for instance, a signed copy of Remembering the Future by Catalan duo Albarrán Cabrera or another signed copy, Éphémère by Paul Cupido, recently published by BILDHALLE Gallery. Our main goal is to create a unique experience by being able to approximate our customers to the soul of every artist - a photobook. That’s why, we bring your favourite photo-publications closer to you no matter where you are.

Temporarily closed

As of October 1st, we said farewell to our longstanding location and temporarily relocated our thousands of books. Our new location has encountered a few setbacks during renovation, necessitating a temporary closure. Rest assured, we are working diligently to find a swift solution and prepare for our upcoming participation in Haute Photographie (January 31st - February 4th). We will keep you informed.

All standing orders will be cancelled and refunded, only Neeltje de Vries Magazine orders will be completed. Please have some patience with orders as we don't have a direct access to our stock.

Thank you for your understanding. Warm regards from the Artibooks team. ❤️

THE SHABBINESS OF BEAUTY
(signed) by Moyra Davey & Peter Hujar is now available on ARTIBOOKS. Signed by Moyra Davey.

The Shabbiness of Beauty is a visual dialogue that crosses generational divides with the easy intimacy of a late-night phone call. Multidisciplinary artist Moyra Davey delved into Peter Hujar’s archives and emerged mainly with little-known, scarcely seen images. The rich dialogue between these photographs is personal and angular, ultimately offering an illuminating reintroduction to each celebrated artist through communion with the other’s work.

LAST COPY of a special artists edition Photographs Annotated (signed) by . For the creating of this book an international selection of artists were sent a physical copy of Davison’s original book. They were free to scribble, annotate, rework, cut out, destroy and generally enjoy Jack’s malleable images. The book creates a hybridised, playful and open-ended book, ranging from extravagant and visceral reworkings, where Davison’s original source images are near-obliterated, to schoolboy doodles and crayon scribbles by Davison’s young nieces and nephews.

Hideka Tonomura - Orange Elephant just arrived at ARTIBOOKS. Tonomura's images portray the intimacies found within love, delicately expressing the fragilities of individual emotions and occurrences. In her photographs illusion intersects with reality and sadness and depression comes to replace hope. Orange Elephant is a book about real and raw experiences which define photographer's life and oeuvre.

Peace is not the absence of conflict but the presence of creative alternatives for responding to conflict - alternatives to passive or aggressive responses, alternatives to violence (Dorothy Thompson).

The Russian invasion of Hungary in the fall of 1956 came as a big shock to the people in the Netherlands and led to an enormous solidarity with the Hungarian people. The Dutch-Hungarian photographer Ata Kandó took the initiative to produce a photo book as a means of collecting funds for Hungarian refugee children.
