I would like to inform you that we have closed our physical store at Brouwersgracht 113. Before doing so, I took many things in consideration as my biggest effort was to keep the shop open.
Now I want to focus on online business with occasionally events with music, food and beverage. This means you can keep buying brigadeiros on Thuisbezorgd, Peddler or on our own webshop sweetbob.shop. The purpose of Sweet Bob is care and sweetness culture with tasty coffee. Its not coincidence that Sweet Bob embraces brigadeiro as main product presentation. Brigadeiro is a gesture of care made with condensade milk and chocolate. Its created in Brazil when women got ritgh to vote. Chocolate comes originally from Mexico and Aztecs use to make thee with the seed of cocoa fruit and chilli. They were more interested in the cafeine efect. This famous drink of the Gods was bitter and strong. During the Industrial Revolution a dutch guy named Conrad van Houten created one machine to press the seed of cocoa fruit, separate the cocoa butter and the rest transform into cacao powder. He was the first one who made chocolate powder and sweet. The Industrial Revotution is also the democratization of food as certanaly products were only for rich people. With machines somethings as chocolate became cheaper to produce and more afordable. This kind of movements started in Europe such as Franch Revolution and later on copied in other countries like Brazil. In this case brazilians mixed Dulce de Leche with cacao powder in order to create a local and afordable bonbon with chocolate sprinkles on topping. Brigadeiro is now the most famous sweet in Brazil with own culture and emotion. Where is Brazilians there is Brigadeiro for sure. Sweet Bob is a dutch brand created by brazilians stablished in Amsterdam since 2015. Where is care, there is love. Dare to share sweetness.

Dare to share

Sweet Bob gaat Franchisen. Eigenaar Lucas Routh de Olivera gelooft dat, ondanks de moeilijke tijd waarin we leven, de Z-generatie behoefte heeft aan wat zijn concept te bieden heeft. Volgens Lucas gaat de Z-generatie de verandering brengen die nodig is in deze tijd (https://lnkd.in/e8KsgEEw ). Deze generatie schijnt, volgens experts, straks ook de groep te kunnen zijn die tijdens de ‘midterm’ verkiezingen in Amerika wel eens voor een verrassing zou kunnen zorgen. Zijn Visie is: ‘Dare to Share’

Hierin is ‘Share’ gelijk aan ‘Care’ (Delen is zorgen voor elkaar en de wereld) en is ‘Dare’ gelijk aan ‘Love’ (Durf om verandering bespreekbaar te maken met liefde voor de ander en de wereld). Deze gedachten staan symbool voor de transitie van eigenaarschap over producten naar het eigenaarschap over de zorg voor de wereld. Want het goed onderhouden-, het delen-, het huren-, het leasen van producten kunnen de duurzaamheid en zorg voor de natuur, mens en wereld bevorderen.

Maar bovenal zijn de zorg voor en de gezelligheid met elkaar de basis van zijn concept. Een concept ook, waarin mensen onder het genot van de Braziliaanse Brigadeiro en de heerlijkste koffie weer/meer met elkaar ‘face to face’ in contact komen.

Lucas is op zoek naar een franchisepartnerschap dat aansluit bij deze gedachten. Hij heeft zijn eerste contacten al voor franchisepartners in Barcelona, Las Palmas, Berlijn en London, maar is zeker ook op zoek naar de eerste gegadigden voor de grote steden in Nederland.

Met ‘Sweet Bob’ heeft Lucas de harten van Amsterdammers en omgeving gewonnen. Er staan vele activiteiten op zijn agenda, waarin kleinschalige, creatieve en muzikale activiteiten het concept gaan versterken. Volgens Lucas geeft ‘Sweet Bob’ de ervaring waaraan veel mensen in deze tijd behoefte hebben. Brigadeiros zijn de bekendste delicatessen in Brazilië, die oorspronkelijk gemaakt en gegeten werden tijdens vieringen, zoals verjaardagen en bruiloften. De naam Brigadeiro is ooit ontstaan als een blijk van steun aan presidentskandidaat Brigadeiro (Brigadier) Eduardo Gomes (1946).

The Independence of Brazil comprised a series of political and military events that led to the independence of the Kingdom of Brazil from the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil and the Algarves as the Brazilian Empire. Most of the events occurred in Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo between 1821–1824.
It is celebrated on 7 September, although there is a controversy whether the real independence happened after the Siege of Salvador on July 2 of 1823 in Salvador, Bahia where the independence war was fought. However, September 7th is the anniversary of the date in 1822 that prince regent Dom Pedrodeclared Brazil's independence from his royal family in Portugal and the former United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil and Algarves. Formal recognition came with a treaty three years later, signed by the new Empire of Brazil and the Kingdom of Portugal in late 1825.
During the French invasion of Portugal by Emperor Napoleon I in 1807, the Portuguese royal family (House of Braganza) fled across the Atlantic Ocean with the help of the British Royal Navy to Brazil, establishing Rio de Janeiro as the de facto capital of the Portuguese Empire during the ensuing worldwide Napoleonic Wars(1803–1815). This had the side effect of soon creating within Brazil many of the institutions required to exist as an independent state; most importantly, it freed Brazil to trade with other nations at will.
