It is with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes that I must announce The Odd Dodo will be put on hold for now. I don't know when, or even if, I'll return to dyeing yarn. Making this decision, especially when it involves something so close to my heart, has been incredibly difficult...
For the past 1.5 years, I’ve been struggling with hip issues, and sadly, my hip has only worsened. Dye days and craft fairs have become a source of intense pain, leaving me in agony and forcing me to recover for weeks at a time. To make matters harder, I’m navigating a medical system that has been unable to provide answers or a solution. As painful as it is, I have to listen to my body and make the hard choice to prioritize my health.
It’s devastating to put a stop to a business that’s been growing and thriving. My heart and mind want to keep going, but my body has decided it’s time to pause. I had so many exciting plans, craft fairs lined up, and dreams to chase but for now, I need to step back.
So, what comes next? Well, I have a lot of yarn to part with. This Saturday at noon, I’ll be sharing a discount code to kick off a big sale. You’ll have time to fill your baskets in peace, and can apply the discount code on Saturday. Or, if you’re feeling extra generous and want to show support, you can shop without the discount!
