Found in a thrift store in Winschoten for almost nothing.
Some things were made to last. This is one of them.

My mom works at a thrift store in Winschoten. She sent me a photo. I was there within the hour.

This little display cabinet came with decades of ni****ne built in. Oak, glass panels, hand-carved details.

I grabbed whatever cleaner I could find. Turned out it had bleach in it. The wood survived but I’m still figuring out what comes next.

Flemish baroque altar candlestick. Brass, claw feet, hand-engraved. Probably from 1900s.
It stood in a church for over a century. Now it stands here.

Groningen to Friesland for a kringloop I found on Instagram. 1.5 hours. No regrets.
I’m not showing you what I found yet but I will say: some things were waiting there that I didn’t know I was looking for.

This corner was empty last week. Now it holds a wall cabinet from the 1930s, a marble side table, books that have been read by someone else, and a brass bird nobody wanted.
I didn’t buy anything new. I just finally found the right place for things that already existed.
What does your empty corner need?

You don’t need to buy anything new. You need one old piece of furniture, something with height, and something that catches the light.
