This summer is no different from the last few summers — silk is back on my needles. ✨

I never expected it to become so addictive… and I’m not even talking about silk! I’m talking about this beautiful technique I discovered thanks to .

At first glance it looks like double knitting, but it’s actually much closer to freestyle knitting. Every row is different, which makes the process surprisingly intuitive and endlessly inspiring. 💃🏻

I’m using 3.25 mm needles and two different silk yarns (both tagged in the photo).

Running a yarn shop while also being an obsessive knitter is a dangerous combination… because every new technique feels like a perfectly valid reason to cast on another project. 😅🧶

Tomorrow is the launch of #крэйзижак 💃🏻 and I’m almost ready… at least to decide which yarn combination to cast on. Finishing it? That’s a problem for Future Me. 😉

The concept is beautiful:
✨ The inner layer should be silk — I’m choosing between bourette, mulberry silk, or mulberry velour.
✨ The outer layer is where the fun begins: cashmere, bouclé, tone-on-tone silk with texture… honestly, almost anything works.

Chunky Cashmere Noor by Gruppo Filpucci (150 m/100 g). Second sleeve 💃🏻, then the tall double collar and zipper — and it’s done! Seamless, knitted bottom-up 😎

Needles: 4.5 mm
Expected weight: 1350 g 😳 (that’s 2025 m of yarn!)

I don’t expect any complaints from the client (my husband) that it’s too lightweight this time — unlike the Coarsehair sweater 🤪

Finally! Almost all the bling-bling is in one place and on display ✨ I’m nearly done moving bobbins around… nearly. It feels like a never-ending puzzle—especially when others need to find their way through this sea of yarn 🤪

Some exciting news: the visitor list for Open day on April 3 is almost full. There are just a few spots left, both in the morning and in the afternoon. The space is compact, and we’d like to keep things relaxed—after all, it’s still a warehouse, not a traditional yarn shop.

Meanwhile, Supergeelong from the new batch is flying off the shelves. And the 100% cashmere from atelier stock, in those juicy, vivid colours, is quickly finding its way to both machine knitters and hand knitters (perfect held 3–4 strands together) 👌
