Not every new crop starts with certainty. Sometimes it simply starts with: “Let’s see what happens.”

Testing Sorghum in the trial garden. Watching how it grows, how it moves, how it reacts to our conditions, and whether it could become something valuable for both us and market. No fixed outcomes. No guarantees. Just the process of trying, learning, adjusting and growing better every season.

And honestly… that’s the part we love most.

So yes, we organised a film & photoshoot. Not just to capture our flowers, but the ambition behind them.

Because at Klaver Flowers, the leading role belongs to our people. Young talent, team leaders, creatives; people who think ahead, work hard and grow together every day. In our lily nursery, Kiki and Roos represent exactly that: fresh energy and experience side by side. Capturing the beauty of our flowers, but also the expertise behind them.

One moment, it was a normal working day. The next, an entire delegation was standing at our gate.

Welcoming H.E. Dr. Sofia Kassa, State Minister of Agriculture, together with the Ethiopian Horticulture Producer Exporters Association (EHPEA), was something my team and I had prepared for with great care. Naturally, we wanted to show who we are and what we stand for.

What made me most proud was their genuine curiosity. They asked questions, listened to our story and showed real interest in how we grow our flowers, invest in people and continue building Klaver Flowers.

Visits like these remind us why we do what we do. They give us the opportunity to show the world how far we've come - from 3 hectares to 120 - and where we're heading next.

Thank you to H.E. Dr. Sofia Kassa and EHPEA for taking the time to visit us. We look back on an inspiring day.

At our farm in Ethiopia, we grow Craspedia with care and consistency; year-round and ready for the European market. Large (36 mm!), bright yellow blooms, selected for quality, uniformity and performance.

But good flowers do not happen by chance. Behind every stem is a team that keeps improving every day. Thinking ahead. Solving problems. Working together. “That is what I am proud of most,” Gulilat says. “Not only the product, but the people behind it.” No big promises. Just flowers that do what they are meant to do.
