For us, the 6263 represents the manual-wind Daytona at its very best, purposeful, beautifully proportioned and unmistakably Rolex. And among its many configurations, the silver soleil “Big Red” has always been one of those watches that gets our hearts beating a little faster.

This example is exactly why! The wonderfully clean silver soleil dial is brought to life by the floating red DAYTONA signature, warm vanilla lume and chronograph registers that have developed a subtle brown tone over time.

It is the kind of vintage watch we love to find, honest, beautifully preserved and full of those small details that make you want to keep looking at it. Some watches we admire, others we develop a real soft spot for. The Patek Philippe 3940 has long belonged to the latter category

For us, it represents Patek Philippe at its very best: quietly complicated, beautifully proportioned and incredibly refined. And when it comes to the 3940, it is the early examples that really capture our attention. The absolute grail for a new generation Patek collectors!

This 18k yellow gold example features the rare early second-series dial, produced only briefly between 1987 and 1989. The stepped sub-dials, clean subsidiary seconds and wonderfully charming French calendar and absence of the cross-hair give it a character that later examples simply don’t have. At just 36mm and powered by the beautifully thin calibre 240Q perpetual calendar, it is a watch that reveals its sophistication slowly. Understated on the wrist, yet endlessly interesting once you start looking closer.

A true connoisseur’s Patek and, in our eyes, one of the most compelling modern classics the manufacture has ever created. We are very happy to have this one in our collection.. Now available 🍾
