Paliomylos is a farm with 7 hectares of olive fields where 1400 olive trees where in its full glory. The neighbours used to tell us that the field looks like in the old days because there where a lot of trees of at least 300 to 400 years old. Unfortunately about 700 hundred trees have seen the fire.
Paliomylos team had planted over a 100 young fruit trees like oranges, lemons, plums, almond, kaki, acacias, and so on! Almost half of this young trees have seen the fire.
Paliomylos used to be for a big part self sustainable because of their big vegetable garden and food forest. Also the vegetable garden with about 20 garden beds have burnt.
Paliomylos has a few sheep and we have seen baby sheep growing up! Thankfully the sheep where let free and could run away from the fire and have saved themselves! For the sheep they had build a beautiful wooden shed where they can be dry and have there food. This luxurious sheep shed has burnt.
All the trees and gardens where irrigated with hundreds of meters tubes and this has to be replaced to be able to start to regrow. No water is no life because of the dry summers.
We hope that with a bit of your help in the form of a donation we can help Paliomylos to become again what it once was! So Giorgos and Miriam and many other people who where planning to buy a piece of land there, can make a new start. So they can make there dreams come true! ❤️🙏
