Let's hope 2021 will bring us more happiness and better news than 2020 has! A new year, new plans and new uppertunites. I also have some news about taking on comissions this year. Apart from small projects such as underpinnings and accessoires, I won't take on any commisions for this year. I am going to focus on preparing for the Victorian Fancy Dress Ball and a new 18th century ball which will take place in 2022 (follow to hear all the news!) as well as big Historical Costume Seminar filled with workshops and lectures about wearing and making historical fashion (hopefully in 2022). A new year is at our doorstep and of course I hope this year will be better for all us than 2020 was! So let's party and leave this year behind and dance, or in this skate, into a new one.

Unfortunately I found out that all my photo's on my website are currently not working because the photo slider I used isn't being supported anymore by Wix. I only just found out when I had to visit my website, I have no idea how long the photo's have been down.. However it's going to take me some time to get everything up and running again, I will let everyone know when the site is working properly!

I can't show you what I'm working on as it's a wedding gown for a client who is getting married in February. Another comission has been shipped to Japan for a museum and will also be revealed later. However I do have some great new toys 😉 Apparantly 2020 wasn't tough enough, but my laptop, phone, printer and iron had to be replaced. For the first time I have a steamer (which will come in handy for the wedding gown and why will be revealed soon!) and a special steam iron (not sure what the proper term in English is!). Hoorah, this makes pressing even more beautiful and the steamer will be handy when we can go to events abroad and our outfits needs some steam to remove the wrinkels. I also have a mini iron suitable to press self trims and small bows and such. Can you tell I'm a seamstress? Who else gets this exited by irons and steamers haha

Oh and yes those skirts are original Victorian in the background! I went antique clothing shopping last Friday and will share photo's and a video soon.
