Unique watercolor by General der Fallschirmtruppen Eugen Meindl. This is a very special and historically interesting original watercolor, created by General der Fallschirmtruppen Eugen Meindl during his captivity in the American prisoner-of-war camp at Allendorf (Germany) in 1947. After his capture on May 22, 1945, Meindl remained in captivity until September 29, 1947, where, in addition to writing military studies, he also painted various watercolors.

The watercolor depicts a forest landscape titled "Junges Laub" and is signed "Meindl" in pencil in the lower left corner and dated 7.5.47. On the reverse side is the original handwritten title "Junges Laub. Bei Allendorf 1947 Meindl".

Period framed Polizei Unterwachtmeister's 'Motorisierte Gendarmerie' Cufftitle (Ärmelband) & Portrait Photo. The cufftitle was worn on the lower left sleeve of the service tunic. Brown wool construction cufftitle showing the neatly hand-embroidered Gothic script 'Motorisierte Gendarmerie' (Motorized Rural Police) in silver bullion threads. The cufftitle is in clearly worn and tunic removed condition, the cufftitle has been period framed together with a portrait photo of an 'Unterwachtmeister der Schutzpolizei' wearing what appears to be the exact same cufftitle. This frame has probably hung at the wall as a souvernir of his service with the Polizei during the war. Interesting piece of history which will be a great addition to a Polizei collection!

This helmet was brought to our office today by the son of a Dutch man who as a kid picked up this helmet after Luftwaffe troops retreated from Bilthoven-Noord in the Netherlands. It's a great example showing there is still a lot of material hidden on attics, waiting to be found and preserved in a collection as a tangible piece of history which will help future generations to learn and understand about our history.
