Rimba was founded in September 1971. Our former CEO was a successful businessman who at that time was a marketeer in exclusive perfumes. By coincidence, he discovered the demand for leather and all kinds of bondage articles, as well as erotic underwear and other erotic products. After research among Dutch sex shops, he developed a small erotic collection and started to market it. The collection was enthusiastically received and we started production. By continual research, more and more articles were added to the collection. One year later, the first catalog was released. In the 70s, Rimba was one of the few erotic companies in the market without many competitors. Our company was expanding quickly, and the founder of Rimba was ready to enter the European market. In a short time, more and more customers in Germany, Switzerland and France joined Rimba to become a reseller of our products. In 1991 Rimba moved into new headquarters and the founder's son took over the business. We continued to expand and needed more space to provide room for the manufacturing department and warehouse facilities. In 2007, due to lack of space and no possibility of expanding the current building, Rimba was ready for the next step: a new Rimba building was in the making. In April 2008, we moved to our current premises in Etten-Leur, the Netherlands. In this building, we manufacture the products in our atelier and manufacturing department, collect the products in our warehouse and our office is there for you whenever you need us!
