Sliman Mansour — a translator of pain, resilience, and love.

His work told stories of Palestine — of land, loss, belonging, and longing. Through his art, he gave form to emotions that words could never fully hold.

A translator of pain, resilience, and love, and an artist whose images will continue to carry memory, history, and hope.
May his work continue to speak for generations to come.

Garments once worn by our mothers and grandmothers find their way back into the present. Old silhouettes return. Embroidery, cuts and craftsmanship reappear — sometimes preserved, sometimes reinterpreted, but never entirely gone.

كُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ

Kullun fī falakin — each in an orbit.

Perhaps clothing moves in orbits too.

What we call vintage was once simply the present. What belonged to another generation becomes relevant again, carrying its history with it.

The Moroccan kaftan does not need to be reinvented to belong to today. It moves through generations — returning, evolving, and finding its place again.

Past into present.
Tradition in motion.
Always returning, never quite the same.

“Each swimming in an orbit.”
Qur’an 21:33

فَلَك (falak) names the circular course or orbit of a celestial body.

Here, the sun and moon are described in continuous motion, each tracing its own trajectory.

Remarkably, كُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ (kullun fī falak) is itself palindromic: its letters move toward a centre and return in reverse order; the language takes on the geometry of what it describes.
