Sometimes we keep building a life around things we no longer actually want.
Not because they were wrong. They may have been exactly what we wanted once. But we change, and what we want can change with us.
The difficult part is that we don’t make our choices in isolation. There are expectations around us, but there are also the expectations of the person we thought we would become.
So we keep pursuing the old plan. We keep trying to arrive at a destination we chose years ago, without stopping to ask whether we would still choose it today.
There is nothing wrong with changing your mind.
There is nothing wrong with outgrowing an old desire.
What do you genuinely want now, and does the life you are building reflect it?
