🇳🇱🌷Flower Parade🌷🇳🇱
Thanks to the efforts of all volunteers, the flower parade can happily drive again after 2 years of Corona. A special year, 75th anniversary 🇳🇱

It all started with Willem Warmenhoven ( my grandfather) who walked in 1946 with a flower decorated horse and carriage in a liberation procession.
In 1947 my grandfather (Willem Warmenhoven) designed the Wale.
In the first years of the parade, participants were not tied to a theme and current events had inspired him to make the Whale, because the Netherlands participated in whaling again with the ship “Willem Barendsz”
My grandfather and father (Cor Warmenhoven) and all 23 employees of the nursery set to work a month before the parade, full time.
An old truck survived the war and was the base of the Whale, made of blue hyacinths. And now after all these years, more than a
million visitors from all over the world , how proud and happy my grandfather and father would be today.
Since 2021 the Flower Parade on the Unesco World Heritage list. “ It’s a way of life that creates togetherness” ❤️🌷

🇳🇱 De hal is goed gevuld. Er staan 16 praalwagens klaar om gestoken te worden in mooie lente kleuren. De stekersverenigingen zijn druk aan het opbouwen om woensdag 20 april van start te kunnen.
Ook de luxe wagens vullen de hal steeds meer. De arrangeurs zijn al druk bezig met het plaatsen van het oase. Op naar morgen om de eerste hyacinten, tulpen en narcissen te kunnen steken! Zin in!

🇬🇧 The Construction Hall is filled and we are ready to go. 16 floats are assembled waiting to be decorated in beautiful spring colours. Groups of decorators many of who are part of a club are currently preparing for tomorrow’s start. The arrangements for the cars and other luxury vehicles is also about to kick off with the designers placing the Oasis foam as a base. We can’t wait for tomorrow when we can start pinning or as we call it ‘staking’ the many thousands of daffodils, tulips and hyacinths!
