35 Years, Stories of Trust: Analyn
When Analyn joined Oriental in 2014, she was a fresh Education graduate—young, innocent, small, and seemingly timid, just beginning to find her place in the working world.
Well… we eventually learned not to be fooled by the size. 😂
More than a decade later, that fresh graduate has grown to become Oriental’s Head of Admin and HR and Finance Officer, helping oversee the day-to-day operations of the entire company.
She may be the smallest in the Oriental family, but quite possibly the fiercest. Get on her bad side and you might just disappear from the payroll. 😂 Kidding!
And as Finance Officer, Analyn has naturally gained quite a following among the sales representatives of our suppliers. Around her, everyone suddenly becomes extra courteous. After all, no bow, no payment! 😂
But behind the jokes and that fierce little exterior is the Analyn we have truly come to know: thoughtful, dependable, trustworthy, and always willing to go beyond what duty requires.
When an employee faces an emergency and needs financial assistance, she never hesitates to work on the documents and processes needed to help. When responsibilities stretch beyond office hours, she stays. When permits and government requirements need to be processed personally, she travels wherever the work takes her.
Oriental also became part of her own family's story. It was here that she met her husband, Alex, who was once part of the company. Today, their son Nino is already a familiar little face around Oriental, having spent much of his time growing up among us.
We first met Analyn in 2014 as a fresh graduate taking her first steps into the working world.
Today, we know her as a wife, mother, leader, and one of the people entrusted with keeping Oriental running every day.
Small in stature. Fierce when she needs to be. Thoughtful when someone needs her. And dependable when responsibility calls.
Thank you, Analyn, for more than a decade of loyalty, responsibility, and trust—and for growing with Oriental as Oriental grew with you.

35 Years, Stories of Trust: Sarlin “Mohjing”

When Sarlin, fondly known to everyone as “Mohjing,” joined Oriental in 2006, Oriental was a very different place.

It was still a standalone store with only a handful of employees. Some employees even stayed in, and life at Oriental felt almost like living with one big family.

Mohjing fondly remembers those simpler days—especially Sundays, when Team Oriental would often pack up and head somewhere together, usually to the beach.

And one particular outing in 2007 would change her life.

Young Mohjing, with her striking features, expressive sharp eyes, and unmistakable Middle Eastern beauty, caught the eye of a young man named Atoy.

And, well… the rest became their love story. ❤️

A year later, Mohjing left Oriental when she became pregnant. But two years later, she found her way back home to Oriental.

And she stayed.

What makes Mohjing’s journey particularly special is that she belongs to a generation personally trained and mentored by Oriental’s founder and patriarch, Ricardo.

Mohjing became one of his protégés, learning the business directly from the man who built it. The lessons, discipline, and knowledge passed on to her would later be passed on to another generation of Oriental employees.

Through the years, we watched her grow from Sales Clerk, to Secretary, to Purchaser, and today, she serves as Accounts Officer and a member of Oriental’s Admin Team.

Much of Mohjing’s contribution happens quietly, away from the spotlight. Yet her influence remains throughout Oriental. Many of our sales clerks learned from her and were guided by her, carrying forward knowledge that, in many ways, traces back to Oriental’s earliest generation.

Loyal. Trustworthy. Steady.

Mohjing knew Oriental when we were small. She has watched employees come and go, branches open, responsibilities grow, and the little standalone store she once knew become something much bigger.

And through so much of that journey, she was there.

Thank you, Sarlin—our dear Mohjing—for nearly two decades of shared memories, loyalty, trust, and quiet service.

And perhaps most meaningfully, thank you for carrying forward what was once personally entrusted to you by our founder—and passing it on to those who came after.

35 Years, Stories of Trust: Analyn “Aryang”

Quiet, shy, and sometimes timid—that is the Aryang many of us know.

But never underestimate her.

For more than a decade, Analyn “Aryang” has quietly proven that strength does not always need to be loud. Her loyalty and trustworthiness are unquestioned, earning her some of the most demanding responsibilities in Oriental.

Behind her gentle personality is a remarkably tough woman—especially when it comes to her family.

When Aryang became pregnant with twins, she faced a fragile and difficult pregnancy. Yet she fought through it with courage, and today, she proudly raises her twins with that same quiet strength.

At Oriental, she has also grown through the years. After handling some of the most demanding work in the company, she is now entrusted as Oriental’s Purchaser and a member of our Admin Team—a position where trust, responsibility, and dedication matter every single day.

Today, Aryang is preparing for another beautiful chapter: she is expecting another baby.

And just as she has remained loyal to Oriental through the years, Oriental will be here waiting for her as she takes the time to welcome and care for the newest member of her family.

Because after more than a decade together, Aryang is more than an employee. We have watched her grow, become a mother, face challenges, and quietly become one of the people we know we can depend on.

Soft-spoken but strong. Shy but dependable. Gentle but tough when it matters most.

As we prepare to close our year-long celebration of Oriental’s 35th Anniversary, we look back once more at the people who have been part of our story through the years.
We begin with a tribute to our long-serving employees who have been with Oriental for more than 10 years—people who have grown with us, stood with us, and helped build the trust that has carried Oriental through generations.
This video brings together the stories of five employees we individually featured during our anniversary celebration. More than recognizing their years of service, we honor their loyalty, dedication, and the many years they have shared with the Oriental family.
Because Oriental’s 35-year story was never built by one person or one family alone. It was built by people who stayed, served, and believed in what we were building together.
