For us, the PH-1000 represents one of the most radical expressions of the Gold Note philosophy.
The audio world has long treated the RIAA curve as if it were the only existing standard. Yet reality is far more complex. Record labels, recording studios and sound engineers have used different equalisation curves, each capable of influencing the tonal balance, dynamics and character of a recording.
Ignoring these differences means listening to music through a distorted lens.
This is why the PH-1000 was designed around an extensive system of equalisation curves and precise calibration tools: not as simple experimental features, but as instruments to restore coherence between the recording and its reproduction.

L’Editor’s Choice celebra componenti che diventano veri punti di riferimento nella propria categoria: prodotti a cui i redattori tornano costantemente, che raccomandano e citano come esempi di eccellenza nell’ingegneria audio.
Per noi, PH-1000 rappresenta una delle espressioni più radicali della filosofia Gold Note.
Il mondo audio ha trattato la curva RIAA come se fosse l’unico standard esistente. Eppure la realtà è molto più complessa. Etichette discografiche, studi di registrazione e ingegneri del suono hanno utilizzato curve di equalizzazione differenti, ognuna capace di influenzare equilibrio tonale, dinamica e carattere della registrazione.
Ignorare queste differenze significa ascoltare la musica attraverso una lente deformante.
Per questo PH-1000 è stato progettato attorno a un ampio sistema di curve di equalizzazione e strumenti di calibrazione precisi: non come semplici funzioni sperimentali, ma come strumenti per ristabilire coerenza tra registrazione e riproduzione.
