Objects shaped by climate, craft, and time.

During a recent journey through the Tohoku region, MONO JAPAN STORE owner Emiko encountered a remarkable collection of folk objects shaped by the harsh winters and daily life of northern Japan.

Straw raincoats (mino), clay figures, and lacquerware reflect generations of practical knowledge, resilience, and regional craft traditions.

This special exhibition and sale presents carefully selected antique and folk objects gathered across Tohoku — many shown in the Netherlands for the first time.

We invite you to discover their quiet strength.
