"So Allah has informed us that there is no matter that is too small that is exempt from being used as an example, even if it was as insignificant as a mosquito or a spider. Allah said,

يأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ضُرِبَ مَثَلٌ فَاسْتَمِعُواْ لَهُ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ لَن يَخْلُقُواْ ذُبَاباً وَلَوِ اجْتَمَعُواْ لَهُ وَإِن يَسْلُبْهُمُ الذُّبَابُ شَيْئاً لاَّ يَسْتَنقِذُوهُ مِنْهُ ضَعُفَ الطَّالِبُ وَالْمَطْلُوبُ

(O mankind! A similitude has been coined, so listen to it (carefully): Verily, those on whom you call besides Allah, cannot create (even) a fly, even though they combine together for the purpose. And if the fly snatches away a thing from them, they will have no power to release it from the fly. So weak are (both) the seeker and the sought.) (22:73)," — Imam Ibn Kathir

The importance of this early introduction is beautifully illustrated in a famous narration by the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), who actively taught the fundamentals of belief to the youth.

يَا غُلاَمُ إِنِّي أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ احْفَظِ اللَّهَ يَحْفَظْكَ احْفَظِ اللَّهَ تَجِدْهُ تُجَاهَكَ إِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَاسْأَلِ اللَّهَ وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللَّهِ

"O young man, I shall teach you some words of advice: Be mindful of Allah and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him in front of you. If you ask, then ask Allah [alone]; and if you seek help, then seek help from Allah [alone]."

The Prophet's wives once asked for the comfort of this world. They looked at the wealth of Persian kings and Byzantine emperors and wondered why the household of the Prophet ﷺ lived so simply.

Allah revealed:

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُل لِّأَزْوَاجِكَ إِن كُنتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتَهَا فَتَعَالَيْنَ أُمَتِّعْكُنَّ وَأُسَرِّحْكُنَّ سَرَاحًا جَمِيلًا

"O Prophet, say to your wives, 'If you desire the life of this world and its adornments, then come, I will provide for you and release you graciously.'"
— Surah Al‑Ahzab, 28

Aisha and the other wives chose Allah, His Messenger, and the Home of the Hereafter.

The Prophet ﷺ did not raise princesses of dunya. He raised women of taqwa, women who knew their worth was with Allah, not with kings.

Raise your daughter for Jannah, not for the applause of this world.

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ

"Our Lord, grant us comfort in our children." (Al‑Furqan, 74)

القلب في سيره إلى الله عز وجل بمنزلة الطائر، فالمحبة رأسه، والخوف والرجاء جناحاه، فمتى سلم الرأس والجناحان فالطائر جيد الطيران، ومتى قطع الرأس مات الطائر، ومتى فقد الجناحان فهو عرضة لكل صائد وكاسر.

English Translation:

"The heart, in its journey to Allah, is like a bird: love is its head, and fear and hope are its two wings. When the head and both wings are sound, the bird flies well. When the head is cut off, the bird dies. When it loses both wings, it becomes prey for every hunter and predator."
