+++Mini of the Month Showcase+++
Here we are again with another wonderful showcase, featuring our favorite space dwarves. So many conversions and creative colorschemes that it felt bad to leave some of them out of the spotlight, but at the end of the day there can be only one winner in each category. Congratulations to all participants for bringing such awesome entries!
Best Painted:
Openning the showcase in 1st position we find Titus and his neon-futuristic style paintjob. This is characterized by the high contrast between dark base tones and very bright fluorescent colored highlights. Also the energy shield conversion really strengthens the theme. In 2nd place we find a completely different take, with Daniel bringing a much more realistic take, focusing on earthy camo colors and realistic shading. Great example of how to achieve wonderful results with completely different styles.
Best Converted:
1st conversion prize goes to Maurits. This one would make any Ork Mek very proud (never enough DAKKA!). He wanted so many weapons in this model that decided to create a cute companion in order to fit even MORE weapons. Running up in 2nd place we see Simon's entry, with his signature grimdark style, creating a very scary looking chaos warrior (see if you can spot the original model's bits on this one).
Most original Colorscheme:
Closing up the showcase, we have Gemma, who brought a wonderfull and bold combination of colors. Instead of using bring and dark colors to suggest lighting, she moved horizontaly through the color spectrum to create contrasting shades that keep all the vibrancy of colors for a very whimsical result. And in a close 2nd place, we salute Arav and his great combination of colors with a wonderful lava base to tie it all up.
And we would like to give an honorable mention for a Narrative entry to Vladimir, who got inspired by our last 40k campaign and created a model to represent his 2 Grots in a trenchcoat (the nose of the second grot can be seen below the weapon).
