Geum Apricot Pearl is having a moment 🍑

Soft apricot petals with a warm pink blush, swaying on tall wiry stems all through summer. One of those perennials that just keeps going, week after week, without asking much in return.

Gillenia trifoliata, also known as Bowman’s Root, is flowering now and it is one of those perennials that looks light, natural and effortless in the garden.

Its fine red stems carry delicate white star shaped flowers, creating a soft, airy look that works beautifully in borders, woodland planting and partly shaded spots.

A quiet plant, but a very good one.

Allium Schubertii never fails to stop people in their tracks.

Its enormous firework shaped flower heads can reach up to 30 cm across, creating one of the most unusual blooms in the garden. The star shaped lilac pink flowers open in late spring to early summer on stems that grow up to 50 cm tall.

Plant the bulbs in autumn and enjoy a truly spectacular display the following season. Even after flowering, the dried seed heads remain highly decorative and add structure and interest to the garden for months.

If your alliums start getting yellow leaves, don’t panic. Just trim off the yellowing foliage and leave the healthy green leaves in place. The green leaves are still feeding the bulb, so your alliums will stay strong and come back beautifully.

This is Dicentra ‘Cupid’, also known as Bleeding Heart, grown from a bare root plant.

A beautiful spring flowering perennial with soft pink, heart shaped flowers that hang delicately above soft blue green foliage. It’s perfect for lightly shaded borders, woodland gardens and pots.
