💥💥Monster Halibut Alert 💥💥

It’s only gone and happened again!!!!
The halibut landed in this last year has being unbelievable!!
The current unbelievable shore caught record was caught by one of my regulars Chris morris at 207cm and 265lb (Norwegian weight/length scale)
But my current guest Steve Arnold has raised the bar to an astonishing level and is now the new shore caught world record halibut at a mind blowing 230cm 371lb!!!
Absolutely over the moon for you Steve!! 👏👏👏
At the current catch rate of late, where can the record end up!! 🤯

After 6 trips to Simon's at northern Norway shore fishing we always wanted a 100lb plus Halibut. My previous best was 86lbs and countless halibut in the 50’s. Stewart gray (the other half of our twosome) had a 100lb Halibut the day before today which was a massive achievement and finally we landed a 100lb fish. But then today something unbelievable happened, after a 2hr hard fight, I have had a 230cm long gargantuan Halibut weighting 168.6kgs or 371.69lbs!!!!! Keeping the fish in the shallows as it was far too big to bring ashore, measure, photographed and then it was released back and swam off strong to fight another day.

Also a big thanks to Dave wood-brignall for the assistance in landing, measuring and releasing the beast. 👏👏

Today was one of those day’s you dream about!! Getting a video call from one of your guests literally shaking with excitement, pumped full of adrenaline, in total shock and disbelief as to what they have just experienced.
This is by a fair way, now the biggest halibut that has ever been landed from the shore by anyone!
This fish was 207cm long with a paddle width of 60cm! AND WITH CONVERSATION, WEIGHS AND ASTOUNDING 265lbs (120kg) !!!!!!!
An absolutely incredible achievement and top draw angling and a true fish of a lifetime.
This hasn’t just raised the bar for others to chase, it has thrown the bar in the sky!
Im absolutely buzzing for you Chris Morris, you 1000% deserve that fish and couldn’t be happier for you! Seeing Chris on top of cloud 9, is why I do what I do! WELL DONE MATE BUZZING, YESSSSSSS 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Hopefully this is not his fish of a lifetime but definitely an amazing catch, Steve’s 80lb halibut top angling mate. Next year you’ve now got a target to beat 😎🎣🇳🇴

Nice little writeup from this weeks guest Robert Yorke,the boys smashed it again as always 🎣 🇳🇴Had another cracking week with the the lads, Gav Cuthbertson Adam Slack in bodo Norway, smashed loads of double figure coalies, & pollack, halibuts of 53lb 8oz, 35lb 2oz, best coalie 12lb 8oz, haddocks 8lb 10oz, 8lb 6oz, 7lb 5oz, and the usual dabs, & cods , had amazing northern light shows, and lots of snow, like to thank Simon Smith, & andy & pam at sea veiw angling, & matt at South West sea baits, & fin- nor fishing reels,& Simon at osboure & Craig roll on 2020🇳🇴🎣

Ragga and the boys had a blinding time last week, totally 12 halibut between them upto 35lb, coalies to 18lb, haddock to 8lb and countless double figure fish. Well done boys awesome angling 😎👌🎣🇳🇴
