Arms & Ammo Ørjan Tonheim is exporting the famous Vektor DSB Magnum Ma**er action to high end gunmakers around the world. These actions have all the features of a modern magnum length action. They can be had with the original two stage trigger or Vektors own all steel fully adjustable trigger,Some left hand actions are available. An export licence is normally granted in 10 days. These actions come
with a tailor made bottom metal perfectly fitted to each caliber for smooth feed and function so vitally important in a dangerous game rifle. Actions available in 4 caliber groups ranging from 375 H&H, 416 Rigby, 404 Jeffery and 500 Jeffery. These actions do not need any heat treatment prior to use. The Vektor double Square bridge magnum ma**er action is tru to the original Oberdorf magnum action with 3 small exceptions believed to improve an otherwise sound action.
1. The front ring is 3mm longer as is the threaded portion to hold the barrel . This allows a stronger and more stiff coupling between barrel and receiver.
2. The recoil shoulder is further to the front thus enabling more wood anda cross bolt between front of magazine and front screw for the magazine assembly. This in turn will make a stronger joint between action and stock on the heaviest calibers.
3. Behind the locked bolt handle there is an anti bending device that guides the bolt when cycling the bolt with the rifle shouldered. This device is an important feature on a dangerous game rifle that will avoid malfunctions in a stressful situation. The bottom metal is carefully fitted to each cartridge again to ensure smooth and reliable feed and function from magasin into the action and barrel. The two main components, receiver and bolt, are all made of high grade steels with proper heat treatment.
1. Receiver is made of EN 24 (817M50) or AISI 4340 and is hardened and tempered to 40-45HRC
2. Bolt is made of EN36 AISI E3310. Core hardness 35-40HRC + Case hardened to 50-55HRC
The actions do not need any form of heat treatment to be used and they are soft enough to be engraved. however they need to be normalized before colour case hardening in order not to crack or twist during this process. Prior to colour case hardening it needs to be warmed to 840C and held there for 20 minutes and slowly cool before C.C. Hardening can be done. This action is delivered with a fully adjustable trigger. The trigger housing is heavy duty steel along with all internal parts with precision grinded sears fully heat treated. This is also a feature mandatory to any dangerous game rifle.
