Tight lines, friends! Today we have a short recap of the last few days, when the good weather finally allowed us to focus on selective fishing and target some big fish. 🎣

Attilka scored big with a 165 cm halibut. Rejža didn't let himself be outdone, though, and landed a 107 cm beauty—an extremely rewarding catch since it came on a light 50g rod. Later, he caught another little hali, which made up for its smaller size with incredible colors. 🎣

Besides the halibuts, we also managed to land several gorgeous ling while fishing with baitfish. Light spinning was plenty of fun too, especially with pollack and mackerel. Saithe occasionally show up in large numbers on the shelf, where you can pick off quite a few. 🤙

That said, saithe fishing remains very hit-or-miss—you really have to be in the right place at the right time to get into them. Now we’re facing a few rough days ahead with wind and rain. Temperatures are still staying low, under 15 °C. I might be repeating myself, but it feels like summer hasn't even arrived yet. 😅

We'll check in again next time. Tight lines! This is ! 👈

Tight lines, friends! The weather has been a bit of a rollercoaster this year, but our anglers are still having a great time. I’m sending over some fresh photos from our guests. They’ve been having the most success spin fishing for pollack. When the weather clears up, it’s also great for ling, halibut, and the occasional cod, especially when using natural baits. 🎣

As for coalfish (saithe), we’ve been struggling with them a bit so far. Every now and then we get a nicer catch, but oddly enough, it’s usually when natural bait fishing rather than classic spinning. Temperatures are still hovering around 15 degrees—it's much colder compared to last year, for example. You constantly have to keep an eye on the weather, pick the windows when the wind dies down, and head out onto the water. 👍

We’ll see what the next few days bring. Bye for now! This is ! 🤙

Tight lines, friends! Just a quick update today with a few new photos. 🎣 Considering it's the second half of June, it's only around 12 °C here and it rains every now and then. But it looks like it will warm up in the coming days and summer will finally start here too. 😅

Hi friends, we’re sending you some photos from yesterday’s epic day, which we dedicated to sea trout fishing. 🎣 Just twenty minutes from our camp, we caught these silver treasures. When the wind on the open sea reaches ten meters per second or more, it’s worth finding a different kind of adventure in the fjord. 💪

And sea trout fishing is an incredibly challenging and highly sporting angling discipline. They say the sea trout is the fish of a thousand casts. 👈 But when they’re actively feeding, everything can suddenly change. This is a whole new level of fishing in Norway. 🤌 You won’t fool these fish with heavy tackle and a simple retrieve. To catch them, you need to think, experiment, stay patient, and cast, cast, cast. 👍

It simply can’t be compared to fishing on the open sea with heavy rods and tackle. Anyone who loves light spinning or fly fishing will know exactly what I’m talking about. 🙏 It was an amazing day on the water, and paradoxically, the bad weather gave us the opportunity to experience something truly incredible. 🤙

Hello friends, after the friendly rivalry with the "po***ck master" crew, where the “basketball players” broke the 103 cm mark, the guests have now shifted their competition to halibut fishing instead. 👊

Apartment 5 made its mark by catching this beautiful flatfish on two consecutive days. But then Apartment 2 answered back with an extraordinary 138 cm specimen. Apartment 4 certainly didn’t want to be left behind either, and their youngest member landed a 120 cm halibut also. 🎣

Over the last five days, some crew has caught a halibut every single day, constantly competing with each other for the better result. Everything was caught using rigs designed for natural-bait fishing — a long two-meter leader, a single hook and a treble hook, with natural bait such as coalfish or mackerel. 👈

In fact, some mackerel had already been caught a few days earlier, and they are, of course, excellent bait for this style of fishing. We’ll keep you updated again later — bye for now! This is ! 🇳🇴

Hello our friends! This group of basketball guys has been coming to Norway for more than 25 years, yet they had never managed to catch a po***ck over one meter long. It had always been their goal, but year after year it seemed further and further out of reach. So I told them, “Come visit us in May — the chances of catching big one will be high.” Karel quickly replied, “We’ve heard that so many times already…” Nevertheless: “Alright, we’ll give it a try!” 🙏

Two days after their arrival, Bohdan and I headed out to fish for po***ck, partly to tease the basketball guys a little. We caught several right away, but one fish stood out clearly — it measured 98 cm. Bohdan caught it in quite a style: he had put the rod into the holder, and just a few seconds later the reel spool started screaming. A classic self-hook, feeder-style. 😅

When we returned to the harbor, the guys told him, “Nice fish, but we’ll beat you.” Bohdan then proposed that if they managed to top his catch and land a po***ck over one meter, he would give them a bottle. A few days later, the basketball guys called directly from the sea. “Hey Zdenek, what kind of bottle did Bohdan put up for the bet?” And I said, “What do you mean?” “Just tell Bohdan to get the bottle ready — we’ll see you at the camp.” 🤝

Bohdan was already waiting nervously at the harbor, pacing back and forth. Until then, I had no idea about this bet. He came up to me and said, “Hey Zdenek, do you have some bottle here? I’ll bring you a new one in the summer when I head home and come back again.” I told him, “Alright, here you go.” 😀

After 25 years of visiting Norway, the basketball guys finally did it. They caught a po***ck measuring 102 cm. Huge congratulations! Lately, trophy po***ck seem to be appearing everywhere. I’d dare say dozens over 90 cm have been caught. But a po***ck over one meter? That’s a true rarity. And when there’s a bet involved, it makes the achievement twice as satisfying. 💪

Tight lines, friends! 🎣

We’re sending over some photos from today’s spinning session. The fish were really cooperating with us, and soft plastic lures in the 12–15 cm range worked best. We used 0.30 mm fluorocarbon leaders and a slower retrieve. 🤙

The biggest po***ck measured an impressive 98 cm — it missed the one-meter mark by only a little! The angler behind this beautiful catch was Julča, and we would like to congratulate her. 👏🐟

The weather has improved significantly compared to the beginning of the season, and we’re finally starting to enjoy much better conditions out on the water. 🇳🇴

Tight lines friends, it’s been windy here for several days now, however yesterday and the day before yesterday the weather cleared up, so we headed out fishing. For me personally, it was an amazing day—I had a great time fishing, mainly spinning, and in the end there even came a flat surprise while deadbait fishing. 🎣

It bothers me a bit that many people don’t take my advice to heart, and on 95% of the boats I multi-hook rigs on the rods paired with 200–400 g pilkers. The thing is, we caught all our fish on spinning gear in depths of 20–30 meters, using 12 cm soft baits, 40 g jig heads, and fluorocarbon up to 0.40 mm. With multi-hook rig and a 400 g pilker, however, it’s impossible. 😪

And it wasn’t about the spots—we were on the shelf, by small islands, on underwater mountains, and everywhere we caught po***ck and cod. We just adapted our setups to the current conditions and available food. There are tiny saithe and herring here; once you match the lure size, use lighter fluorocarbon because of the clear water, and slow down your presentation, you can have great fishing. 🐟

Of course, as the water warms up a bit and gets more turbid, it won’t be necessary to use lighter rods, fine leaders, and smaller soft baits. Then it will most likely work even with those 400 g pilkers and multi-hook rigs, but the question is whether there is any real enjoyment in that kind of fishing at all? 🛥️

I’m sharing a few photos from yesterday’s amazing day at sea and wish everyone lots of success by the water. Now we’re expecting a few windy days again, so we’ll check in a bit later. Tight lines. 🤙
