A fellow craftsman stopped by recently, and we've agreed that he will be using my shop to wrap up some of his projects before the end of the year. This allows me to take some time off during the holidays.

The Rhodes electric piano has been an important part of my life for more than 25 years. The two gentlemen in the center and to the right in this picture have been part of that journey for just as long. I am proud to have Dan Goldman, Chief Product Officer of the Rhodes MK8, and Frederik "Freddan" Adlers, Rhodes scholar and legend, as colleagues—but even prouder to call them my friends.

This picture was taken on this day in November 2021, when Frederik and I were invited to Leeds to evaluate the Rhodes MK8 prototype during a brief opening in the pandemic restrictions. Back in the early 2000s, when we first met in a Yahoo discussion group to share ideas and techniques, who would have thought we would be gathering around a NEW Rhodes piano 25 years later?

As we close in on the end of another year, I truly feel that the future for both vintage and new electric pianos has never been brighter. It has been a fantastic journey so far, and I want to thank all the customers who have trusted me to repair or restore their vintage keys. You are an essential part of this journey as well.

Fra 1.august har Meta bestemt at det kun er Instagramkontoer med mer enn 1000 følgere som får lov å sende direkte. Pr nå har Vintagebua 824 flotte følgere så vi trenger kun 177 nye følgere for å komme over den magiske grensa. Inntil det skjer blir det ikke flere nerdekvelder i bua.

While restoring a Fender Rhodes Mk1 Stage 73, I noticed the stamp on the right harp support block. This stamp is the finish date code and marks when the piano passed through final inspections. The two first digits marks the week, the third digit marks the year and the last digit the weekday that week, that year. So in this case 3443 translates to week 34 in 1974, third workday which is Wednesday. That means this piano was finished August 21, 1974. I was born that exact day. I may have to hang on to this one… What do you guys think?
