It all started with a broken sled.
No lead dogs. No famous mushers to learn from. No racing experience. No sponsors.
Just a couple of Greenland Dogs, a couple of Alaskan Huskies, and two people who loved dogs and the outdoors, and eventually met each other.
Dogs had already shaped our lives. They were part of the reason we met, and they became an even bigger part of our story after an unexpected litter between Martine’s Greenland Dog and Henrik’s Husky. You have already met Qanik and Sid.
Mushing wasn’t part of some grand plan. It simply felt like the natural next step.
In the beginning, we didn’t have much—just determination. We learned by doing, trained our dogs one day at a time, slowly upgraded our equipment, and found a community that welcomed us along the way.
Somewhere between all the early mornings, the setbacks, and the miles on the trail, we realized this wasn’t just a hobby.
It was the life we wanted to build.
Today, we have the privilege of welcoming guests from all over the world to meet the very dogs we’ve raised and trained ourselves. At least most of them. Along the way, we’ve also adopted dogs. Some came from excellent bloodlines and loving homes, while others came from much harder beginnings. We’ve never looked for perfection, but potential. And it has not always been the easiest way.
Because for us, mushing has never been about distance, speed, or chasing records.
It’s about the dogs.
The nature.
And the people who choose to experience it with us.
Some pictures from our early days to keep us grounded💕
