Welcome to the world "That Quiet Fog" by Jay Samuel, the very first publication of Prismatic Press!

It was unbelievably exciting to arrive at the shop yesterday to a pallet of books in front of the door. Inside, 500 copies of this powerful novel:

Joe is with Pete, but the remnants of his last relationship refuse to leave. When new information surfaces, Joe is forced to confront the shadows he can no longer avoid: who he thinks he is, who he remembers being, and who he might still become if he were to finally allow himself to feel safe.

You asked, and we're answering...after Easter break Prismatic Pages will be open 24 hours a day! ⏰️

We often have customers who come by and say it's their first time stopping in because we never seem to be open. Unfortunately they often pass by on their way to work early in the morning, or late at night after an evening out. After some thought and logistics planning, we decided to take the plunge!

This is just another step in our evolution -- from being not only Oslo's only all-English bookshop, but now also Norway's only 24/7 bookshop! Oslo might not quite be the city that never sleep, but if you can't, we'll be there ☕️📚

After a year of contemplating, planning, collaborating, and learning, we are making our own in-house publishing company a reality.

Prismatic Press is an independent publisher in Oslo, Norway. Born out of Prismatic Pages, the city’s only English bookshop, Prismatic Press brings local authors to the Nordic scene.

Our first book is That Quiet Fog by local author Jay Samuel.

Happy International Women's Day!

I'm reminded of a time not long after I opened when a man came in and asked me if this was a feminist bookstore since we had so many books by women, and I responded "No...I think you're just not used to seeing so many books by women in one place."

(And then recommended him Bingen Bok, the coolest feminist bookshop ever!)

Today, as we do every day, we celebrate female authors. Come by on your way to or from the march and grab a great read!
