Hi everyone! We want to keep this very straightforward. Starting in the new year, we’ll be increasing the price of our cooler. We’re not yet sure by exactly how much, but we’ll be sure to keep you informed.
With this in mind, we’ll be launching a special holiday offer in the coming days. More information on that coming soon!
On the price increase:
Since the very beginning, we’ve been fortunate to receive almost exclusively positive customer feedback, but a price increase is probably not what any of you were hoping for, and we get that — but if you’ll allow for it, here’s our perspective:
Sometimes it seems people think we’re a large organization producing our coolers somewhere in the Far East, selling out with laughable margins. In reality, Oyster is a small company based in Norway. This is where we design, engineer and also manufacture our coolers. At the heart of everything lies data, research, and rigorous testing — all aimed at creating the best cooler you’ve ever owned and shaping a new era of outdoor adventure.
The way we work comes at a cost, and for a long time, production costs — including labor, materials, and tariffs — haven’t been fully covered by our retail prices. We’ve now reached a point where we can’t continue absorbing that gap. To continue designing, engineering, and producing the best coolers, our prices will now be increasing, helping us create a more sustainable foundation for the future.
Thank you all for your continued support. We hope it may long continue. We’re aiming for a big year ahead, with a fun new release coming right after the new year – one that will elevate all the Oyster Coolers out there.
