Inga Dalsegg works with oil paintings on canvas and on Egyptian papyrus, linocuts, drawings and lithography. She is also a pumpkin artist; in October every year she swaps pencil and paint brushes for pumpkin carving equipment, hosts pumpkin carving workshops around the country, and carves pumpkins live on TV. You can visit her at her art studio "Dalalåven Atelier" in Rindal, Norway. Her art studio
also combines as a gallery where she sells her art and a collection of art merchandise. Inga is known for her critically acclaimed emotional paintings, many of which feature expressive hands as the main motif. Although it is oil paint and lino print that she mostly works with, she has also been referred to as a pumpkin artist. In the last 10 years, her pumpkin carvings have received a lot of attention both on TV, radio and in newspapers. Inga has, among other things, carved pumpkin lanterns on TV2 Nyhetene, God Morgen Norge and on Dagsrevyen several times. Her art is created from a strong desire to explore universal symbolism and to express the beauty of human experiences - in life itself - in all its forms. Inga wants to express many different emotions in her art to show all sides of life's journey, everything from life’s simple pleasures to the more extreme highs and lows in life. Dalsegg wants people to be able to look at her pictures and recognize a feeling or a mood. She wants the viewer to dream, to be moved and to enter a world of emotional images. People often say they experience a sense of recognition after seeing her art. Inga Dalsegg is a member of the Norwegian Visual Artists Association. She was awarded the Ole Vig-Award for her art in 2005, Rindal Bank’s Motivational Award in 2013, was the winner of the newspaper Driva’s Name of the Year Award in 2013 and made an ambassador of her local town Rindal in 2018.
